Interview with a Book Lover: JoJo, The Cornered Lover

Today I’m interviewing our very own JoJo, The Cornered Lover. Why? Because it’s her birthday today! Her short bio is posted on our “About Us” page, but I thought that a more in-depth look at her views on books, reading and blogging would be interesting. We’ll be adding more “Interview with a Book Lover” posts for the other bloggers in our group later.
Now for the interrogation. I mean interview. 😉
The Eclectic Lover: Have you always been a reader?
JoJo: No, actually I haven’t. I have just recently gotten back into reading about 1 1/2 years ago. *blushes* I know right!!! I used to read when I was younger but I just kinda fell out of reading. And then I had a friend hound me and hound me until I decided to try the Twilight series. *grins* Yes, I said Twilight series. And I just couldn’t stop reading since then! Stephenie Meyers reminded me why I used to love to read!
The Eclectic Lover: What are your three favorite genres to read?
JoJo: Romance, Romance,and a touch of Romance! HeHeHe. But I guess more specifically the types of Romance would be:
1. Paranormal Romance
2. ANYTHING that involves a luscious Highlander *evil grin*
3. Erotica, M/M – M/F/M
The Eclectic Lover: Who are your top three favorite authors?
JoJo: Oh thats a tuffy. Only 3….really?!?!? hmmmmmm
I would say J.R. Ward is probably my #1. Then Karen Moning (lurvvvvv her Highlander series), Lara Adrian,
then Donna Grant, Cynthia Eden, Larissa Ione, Gena Showalter, Kresley Cole and on and on and on. Ya, didn’t think I would be able to narrow it down to just 3 *grin*
The Eclectic Lover: What are your top three favorite series?
JoJo: Black Dagger Brotherhood, of course, by J.R. Ward;
Midnight Breed Series by Lara Adrian;
Demonica Series by Larissa Ione
The Eclectic Lover: Do you have any favorite comfort reads?
JoJo: I don’t think…….;0)
The Eclectic Lover: Whats the best book you’ve read in the last 6 months?
JoJo: Donna Grant’s Dangerous Highlander, cause seriously I just can’t seem to get enough Highlanders!
The Eclectic Lover: What is your favorite place to read?
JoJo: Ya, I pretty much read everywhere. I do a lot of in-bed reading, on my front porch, on the couch, but I guess my fav place would be the really kewl reading nook I setup for myself in my office. It’s in a little nook, with a big comfy chair and foot ottoman, a neat light, and a little end table for my notes. Ya, I’m a dork sometimes, but that’s ok ;0)
The Eclectic Lover: Have you ever thought “I’ll never read that” (book/genre) and ending up loving it?
JoJo: Ya, I was originally like that with romance. I always said I would never be “one of those romance readers”. Ya and now look at me….there are soooooo many great reads I have missed out on through the years because of it!
The Eclectic Lover: Is there a genre you’re ashamed to read?
JoJo: absolutely not!
The Eclectic Lover: If you could choose any author, dead or alive, for a meet and greet, who would it be?
JoJo: Actually it would be a 3 way tie, and awesome to meet them all 3 together. That would be Donna Grant, Cynthia Eden, and Larissa Ione.

The Eclectic Lover: What made you start your own blog?
JoJo: Honestly, I’m not exactly sure what made me start blogging. When I got back into reading I searched and searched trying to find other books that interested me. And some how I stumbled upon Twitter, and a bunch of book peeps. From there I visited many of their book blogs finding new authors and series. Then one day I thought “hmmmmm, wouldn’t it be kewl to have a book blog of my own to share my opinions of what I read!” From there JoJos Book Corner was born. And let me tell ya, I had absolutely no idea it would get to where it is today! I thought it would be great if I eventually got 4 or 5 people that would follow! Never in a million years would I have guessed I would be “Known” *giggles*
The Eclectic Lover: Why did you choose to become a Book Lover?
JoJo: I thought it would be great to be a part of a group that enjoyed reading as much as I do. And have made some great friends because of it!
The Eclectic Lover: What do you like most about blogging?
JoJo: Getting to share my opinion, my favorite recipes, some yummie hotties, and nobody being able to do anything about it! *evil grin* hehehe
The Eclectic Lover: What was the best thing you experienced through blogging?
JoJo: How many friendly and wonderful authors there are. And all of them willing for me to torture…um I mean interview them! ;0)
