Book Blurb:
Meet Astoroth, high duke of hell. When a woman at the end of her bucket list meets him in a bar in Las Vegas, he sees the possibility for some harmless fun with a human just at her expiration date. What he doesn’t count on is deciding to keep her…
My Thoughts:
I always find it hard to review short stories, purely because there simply can’t be the character development that a longer novel can achieve. Short stories however can create intense emotions and I found that Astoroth succeeded in creating those emotions.
Sarah is dying, she has a list of things she wants to do while she still can, one of those things being to flirt with a fallen angel. But Astoroth wants to do more than flirt, and with Sarah’s lack of inhibitions he quickly goes about getting her alone, naked and screaming for more.
For fourteen pages, the Price’s sure packed a lot into them, and after the first couple of pages, definitely found a beautiful relationship between words and actions. I got a glimpse (if only brief) into how and why Sarah is doing what she is doing even though the sex felt a little fast and awkward when it began, by the end it was smooth and flowing.
As I said, the first few pages, in the lead up to the coupling were awkward, not everything made sense and some of the dialogue felt forced and unnatural, but it was quickly reconciled when the couple got their gear off.
The only other thing that seriously took away from the experience of being lost in the affair was the somewhat severe spelling and grammatical errors. It wasn’t easily overlooked and sometimes needed a backtrack to be understood.
Astoroth: Her Final Sin was seriously sexy, and left me somewhat hot and bothered. It is a simple, easy read that makes for a perfect quick fix of sinfully, angelic fun.
I give Astoroth 3 out of 5 bookies.

Book Blurb:
A well-bred lady and a rakish earl escape the ton and shed their inhibitions in A Scandalous Arrangement…
Sold into the service of a brothel madame to satisfy her brother’s gambling debts, Lady Anna Boscawen finds herself catapulted into the scandalous, seedy underbelly of the ton when she is given a new name and her virginity is auctioned off to the highest bidder. Vere Fane, Earl of Westmorland is rich, powerful, and devilishly handsome, known throughout society for his carnal inclination and the pleasure and pain he inflicts upon the women he alternately ravages and worships. Bound together by unusual circumstances, Vere leads Anna through a whirlwind of emotions, teaching her to find the ultimate freedom – in submission.
My Thoughts:
What attracted me to this story was the blurb. Some Dominance/Submission play and some BDSM really caught my attention. I sailed through the story in a few minutes and actually really enjoyed it. The writing was great, it didn’t try to be sophisticated and it delivered the message plain and clear.
I really bought into Anna’s plea and couldn’t help but root for Vere to save her from a seemingly hopeless situation. I thoroughly enjoyed the bedroom games and even though Vere is very quiet and hard to read, there was definitely a softer side to him that pleased me and made it easy to see why Anna had a crush on him.
See, the thing is that she knew him from before her predicament and for most of the story it seems that he does not recognize her. As much as she was warned by the brothel’s Madam to not say a word unless spoken to, it really bothered me that she did not point out to Vere that she not only wasn’t a whore, but she was from the same social class as he was. However, I did understand why things progressed as they did and I did appreciate the final twist very much.
I have to say that I don’t give it 4 1/2 bookies only because of the ending, it was too open, I mean, we can guess, but it was too much for me… I wanted to know for sure that Anna and Vere were going to have a HEA. That’s what i have come to expect from Romances, so that was really my biggest peeve with the story.
All in all, A Scandalous Arrangement is a quick but a very pleasurable read, specially if you are curious or a fan of Dominance and BDSM games, even as voyeur hehe,
I give A Scandalous Arrangement 3 1/2 out of 5 Bookies!

Short and nice, always good:D
Agreed! Sometimes short stories can't really tie all the ends right simply because they are too short! I'm probably going to be a grammar nazi where spelling errors are concerned and am afraid that it will block me from enjoying the flow of the story. A scandalous Arrangement sounds very perky and interesting though.
@Blodeuedd
