Unfortunately Veronica is sick this week so I decided to take over her Wishlist for this week. And we all should send her some healing vibes so she feels better soon.
I never did that before so please bear with me. 😉
Here is what I have on my list at the moment. All books that will be out soon and I’m already counting the days till i can finally get them.
So lets take a look at my list:
City of Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #3) by Stacia Kane
Release Date: July 27th, 2010
Why?
I adore this series. The first 2 books were wonderful and I want to know what happens next. Stacia’s world building is wonderful and I adore her characters. Absolute must-read for this year. They directly went on my keeper shelf.
Blurb:
IT’S A THIN LINE BETWEEN ALIVE AND UNDEAD.
Chess Putnam has a lot on her plate. Mangled human corpses have started to show up on the streets of Downside, and Chess’s bosses at the Church of Real Truth have ordered her to team up with the ultra-powerful Black Squad agency to crack the grisly case.
Chess is under a binding spell that threatens death if she talks about the investigation, but the city’s most notorious crime boss—and Chess’s drug dealer—gets wind of her new assignment and insists on being kept informed. If that isn’t bad enough, a sinister street vendor appears to have information Chess needs. Only he’s not telling what he knows, or what it all has to do with the vast underground City of Eternity.
Now Chess will have to navigate killer wraiths, First Elders, and a lot of seriously nasty magic—all while coping with some not-so-small issues of her own. And the only man Chess can trust to help her through it all has every reason to want her dead.
Eternal Kiss of Darkness (Night Huntress World, #2) by Jeaniene Frost
Release Date: July 27th, 2010
Why?
I had a soft spot for Mencheres since the first time we met him and I always wondered what kind of girl would make him happy. He always was so mysterious and nearly otherworldly. I am totally fascinated and can’t wait to know who this Kira is. And her name reminds me of Star Trek Deep Space 9 so no way around that book for me. 😉
Blurb:
An immortal war has been brewing in the darkness…and now one woman has stumbled into the shadows.
Chicago private investigator Kira Graceling should have just kept on walking. But her sense of duty refused to let her ignore the moans of pain coming from inside a warehouse just before dawn. Suddenly she finds herself in a world she’s only imagined in her worst nightmares.
At the center is Mencheres, a breathtaking Master Vampire who thought he’d seen it all. Then Kira appears—this fearless, beautiful…human who braved death to rescue him. Though he burns for her, keeping Kira in his world means risking her life, yet sending her away is unthinkable.
But with danger closing in, Mencheres must choose between the woman he craves, or embracing the darkest magic to defeat an enemy bent on his eternal destruction.
Hot Finish (Fast Track, #3) by Erin McCarthy
Release Date: August 3rd, 2010
Why?
I never thought that I would enjoy a book about NASCAR racing but I adore this series. The first 2 books were wonderful. I adored them. And Suzanne and Rider always had a special place in my heart. These 2 are just meant for each other in a mean masochistic way. LOL
Blurb:
Not all marriages last forever…
Suzanne Jefferson is broke, which is why she’s given up charity work for wedding planning. Fortunately, she has a high-profile client—and best of all, he’s paid in advance. There are just two teensy problems: The bride is a bona fide bridezilla, and Suzanne’s ex-husband is the best man. At least she thought he was her ex-husband…
But this one might…
Two years after their marriage fell apart, stock car race driver Ryder Jefferson still can’t stop thinking about Suzanne. Which is why he isn’t too upset that, due to a glitch, the two are still technically married. Now he’s imagining easing Suzanne’s woes by satisfying her needs in the bedroom. After all, that’s the one room they never argued in. Besides, with wedding bells ringing all around them, Ryder is wondering if—even though they’d quit the race a few laps too early—they can still come on strong with a big, romantic finish…
Bayou Moon (The Edge, #2) by Ilona Andrews
Release Date: September 28th, 2010
Why?
Hellooo? It’s an Ilona Andrews book. That should be enough. LOL No I really loved On the Edge and I’m curious how Ilona will continue this story. I loved the characters in that one and I’m sure we will have many laugh out loud moments in this book, too. I’m highly intrigued and I’m sure that Ilona can pull anything off. She is just wonderful and I can’t say often enough: “Read her books. You won’t regret it.”
Blurb:
Cerise Mar and her unruly clan are cash poor but land rich, claiming a large swathe of the Mire, the Edge swamplands between the state of Louisiana and the Weird. When her parents vanish, her clan’s long-time rivals are suspect number one.
But all is not as it seems. Two nations of the Weird are waging a cold war fought by feint and espionage, and their conflict is about to spill over into the Edge—and Cerise’s life. William, a changeling soldier who left behind the politics of the Weird, has been forced back into service to track down a rival nation’s spymaster.
When William’s and Cerise’s missions lead them to cross paths, sparks fly—but they’ll have to work together if they want to succeed … and survive.
Alpha (Shifters, #6) by Rachel Vincent
Release Date: October 1st, 2010
Why?
Last book in this series and I can’t wait to learn how everything will work out. I’m still not sure which of the 2 guys she should take but I hope she makes the right decision. Yep, I am a hypocrite. LOL
Blurb:
The unscrupulous new Council chair has charged Jace, Marc, and me with trespassing, kidnapping, murder, and treason. Yeah, we’ve been busy. But now it’s time to take justice into our own hands. We must avenge my brother’s death and carve out the rot at the heart of the Council.
It’s not going to be easy, and loss seems unavoidable, but I have promised to protect my Pride, no matter what. With a target on my back and Marc at my side, I’m heading for a final showdown that can–that will–change everything forever. A showdown I’m not sure I’m ready for.
But life never waits until you’re ready.
So what’s on your wishlist? Any other releases I should keep my eyes open for?
