Today we are happy to welcome Zoe Archer as a guest on Book Lovers Inc. Scoundrel the 2nd book in the Blades of the Rose series was released earlier this month. This new installment is a fantastic addiction to the series one you don’t want to miss. (My 5 stars review here). Zoe tells us about how the different settings influenced her novels. Stay tuned and you might win a copy of Scoundrel.
Thanks for having me back on Book Lovers, Inc.! I’m very excited this month because SCOUNDREL, my second Blades of the Rose novel, is now on shelves.
The setting for SCOUNDREL is Greece and the Aegean Sea–you can’t get more romantic than that! I mean, look at this scenery. If you’re on a boat in the middle of all this beauty, and you happen to be on the boat with an impossibly handsome and devilishly seductive scoundrel, and somehow you manage to not fall in love… Well, I’d advise you to head to the hospital immediately. Or you might just want to talk to a funeral director, because you may be dead.
Each of the four Blades books corresponds to a different element. For WARRIOR, the element is sky, since the gorgeous blue sky stretches endlessly above the Mongolian steppes. For REBEL, the element is earth, as evidenced by the rugged mountains in which our hero and heroine journey. In STRANGER, the element is fire–for reasons I can’t explain without spoilers. And in SCOUNDREL, the element is water. I always knew that I wanted the Blades books to have thematic elements in them, so SCOUNDREL I had to “audition” different water-centric locations. When I saw the Cyclades Islands in the Aegean, I knew I had the perfect setting for adventure, magic and, above all, romance.
If you could sail away anywhere with the perfect scoundrel, where would you go?
Leave a comment and you’re entered to win a copy of SCOUNDREL!

About the Book:
The Blades of the Rose are sworn to protect the sources of magic in the world. But the work is dangerous—and they can’t always protect their own…
Ready For Action
London Harcourt’s father is bent on subjugating the world’s magic to British rule. But since London is a mere female, he hasn’t bothered to tell her so. He’s said only that he’s leading a voyage to the Greek isles. No matter, after a smothering marriage and three years of straitlaced widowhood, London jumps at the opportunity—unfortunately, right into the arms of Bennett Day.
Risking It All
Bennett is a ladies’ man, when he’s not dodging lethal attacks to protect the powers of the ancients from men like London’s father. Sometimes, he’s a ladies’ man even when he is dodging them. But the minute he sees London he knows she will require his full attention. The woman is lovely, brilliant, and the only known speaker of a dialect of ancient Greek that holds the key to calling down the wrath of the gods. Bennett will be risking his life again—but around London, what really worries him is the danger to his heart…

Wow! What a coincedence! I'm Greek too! To answer the question I say that I wouldn't travel to only one place but visit different places!

I purchased Warrior, but still have to start it, but I'm very excited about this series after reading the Undying Heart.
I'd like to set sail to some remote tropical island so we could spend some quality time together.
I probably would not stop long in any one place. There are too many places I want to see, and too many adventures. I would start with England, and go from there.

If I could sail away anywhere with the perfect scoundrel I would find a private island with an exotic cove and bask away life in the sun 🙂

I can't remember where it was, but somewhere in the Indian Ocean, there is this tropical island, those white sandy beaches, turquoise sea and there I would go
I would sail up around Alaska. Seeing the glaciers would be amazing. Not to mention the chilly air is great for snuggling with my scoundrel 😉

As fun as the Mediterranean and Greece would be, I'm still leaning toward Hawaii, unless, of course, I become proficient in Greek before I set sail. 🙂

I'd want to sail somewhere not too challenging so we could concentrate on each other, so I'd pick somewhere in the Caribbean – maybe the British Virgin Islands because they are supposed to have great sailing and good beaches.

If I could sail away anywhere with the perfect scoundrel, I'd sail around the world, stopping anywhere we fancied, for as long as we wanted. Of course, we'd have unlimited funds so we could take our time, LOL.
I'm reading Warrior right now, and I can't wait to read Scoundrel.

Hi Zoë!
A Scoundrel giveaway! yay! I'm currently reading Warrior, because someone (Caroline, here) recommended it to me, I'm having a blast. There's so much action going on! Needless to say I'm also currently in love with Huntley, and I don't even like blondes, for heaven's sake! My question is, if you visit all the places you write about. Thank you 🙂

I would want to sail somewhere private; preferably in a tropical environment.
