Sadly this day has arrived: our fantabulous (if I do say so myself ;-p) blogoversary events are coming to an end 🙁 But they will go with a bang! Our penultimate guest author is none other than Chloe Neill, the wonderful author behind the Chicagoland Vampires series and the Dark Elite series! Today she gives us an unprecedented dual interview with her two main heroines: Merit and Lily!! Place your bets and read on (you will find a great giveaway at the end)!
DUELING HEROINES
Lily: *Tapping the microphone* Is this thing on?
Merit: I’m sure it’s probably on. They wouldn’t have asked us to chat today if it wasn’t right?
Lily: I think that makes sense, although I can’t entirely tell if you’re being sarcastic or not.
Merit: Sorry, it’s a bad habit. Anyway, we’re here today to talk about our series, right?
Lily: *Nodding* Absolutely.
Merit: *Placing a hand on her chest* So I’m Merit. I’m 28 years old and a vampire of about six months. I’m from Chicago and I’m a Novitiate and Sentinel in Cadogan House. I’m the heroine of Chloe’s Chicagoland Vampires series. It’s basically about how I put up with Ethan Sullivan, Master of my House. Your turn!
Lily: Okay. I’m almost sixteen years old–
Merit: You got a paranormal series at sixteen?
Lily: *Darkly* Believe me, it wasn’t on purpose. I was getting ready for my junior year of high school in Sagamore, New York–that’s in upstate New York–when my parents shipped me off to Chicago for boarding school.
Merit: *Frowning* That’s a rough deal. Why’d they do that?
Lily: Your guess is as good as mine. Turns out, there now on some kind of secret mission in Germany, and I’m patrolling the city beneath the city trying to keep Reapers from sucking the souls of unsuspecting humans.
Merit: That’s a pretty big load for a sixteen year-old.
Lily: You’re telling me. But I do have a werewolf.
Merit: *Grinning* Is he cute?
Lily: Ohmygodtotally. Dark blond hair. These crazy turquoise eyes. What about you? Do you have a boy?
Merit: *Blushing* Let’s just say if I was on Facebook, my relationship status would be “It’s complicated.”
Lily: Bummer.
Merit: Seriously.
Lily: Anyway, Chloe’s Dark Elite series is about my attempt to clean up the city and stay alive. My bff, Scout, helps out, too.
Merit: My bff is Mallory. Ditto on the helping. I have kind of a team, I guess.
Lily: OMG, me, too. We’re called “Adepts.”
Merit: *Smirking* We’re just called “vampires,” mostly, but same deal. Anywho, my adventures are usually pretty entertaining, so I hope you have a chance to check them out!
Lily: Ditto! My second adventure, HEXBOUND, is now on shelves.
Merit: *Nodding* My third adventure, TWICE BITTEN, is now on shelves. Book four in my continuing vampire drama saga hits shelves on May 3, 2010.
Lily: Cool. I’ll pick it up.
Merit: Ditto!
Lily: In that case, thanks for having us today!
Merit: Thanks from me, too.
Merit and Lily: *Waving* Goodbye!

Great post Chloe!
I have to say that Merit sounds like my kind of gal. Snarkiness is always a plus. I live in the suburbs of Chicago so I think I would really enjoy these stories. I don't think I've read a paranormal set in/around Chicago.

I have Firespell sitting on my shelf and I cannot wait to read it!
I am a GFC follower.

No entry for this Finn.
Hm have only read Firespell so can't say who I would like more..I need to read about merit too 😉
I read the entire Sookie Stackhouse series last year and loved Sookie…she may not be the brightest cookie, but she doesn't scare easily and she's loyal to her friends!

I love the Chicagoland Vampire series and Merit and her snarkiness. One of my favorite series.

I haven't read either series yet, but I do have Some Girls bite and I plan on reading it this weekend I hope. So since I have the first book in the Chicagoland Vampires series I will go with Merit.
vampiremistress2010(at)gmail(dot)com
I love Merit but I'm intrigued by her Grandad – he seems to have a mysterious job that Merit doesn't know a lot about! 🙂

I haven't read either series yet, but the Chicagoland Vampires are on my TBR list. I'll vote Merit.
I just finished Hexbound but I have not read the Chicagoland Vampires. I know what is up with that? My local store never sold the series so it was out of sight out of mind. Now that I know it is out there I am totally on the quest to read it.
terilhack at gmail dot com
I am in the same boat. I read Hexbound yesterday and loved it and now I cannot wait to read the previous books in the series, but Chicagoland looks awesome!

I'd like to read about Merit she older and a new vampire.
I haven't had the pleasure of reading these yet but since I a tad bit older that the ya group i'd probably like the books with Merit and she a vamp to boot.
scrtsbpal at yahoo dot com
I love them both. I want to say I like the Chicagoland Vampires better, but then I think about the Dark Elite again and cant decide. Its a close call.
bacchus76 at myself dot com
I haven't read either of these series. I think I would prefer the Chicagoland series. A little older and Merit sounds a little more sarastic, without being too cynical. Thank you for the contest.
lisagkATyahoodotcom
I really love both of these series. Merit is very entertaining and Lily is becoming a fast fave as well!
But if I had to pick a fave, I would most likely go with Merit first! She has attitude and has kept to most of her human ways and whatnot since being turned. I like her attitude and her strength!
jessbess2505[at]yahoo[dot]com
I think I would love both series because I love reading about vampires. Please enter me in contest. Tore923@aol.com
I haven't read her series' yet, I can't WAIT to read Some Girls Bite! It sounds fabulous!

Thanks for the post. Please don't enter me, because I live in Hungary, in Europe =) I hope I will have a chance to read one of Chloe's book soon =)
While I haven't started the series yet it is on my list.
All the reviews and frankly the covers have had me salivating waiting on this series.

Chloe's books have been on my TBR pile for ages and I still haven't gotten around to reading them (there really should be more hour in a day). I'm exited to read both series but I'm definitely looking forward to reading about the Chicagoland Vampires.

Not read either series but I like Lily and her "it's complicated" relationship. Another series for the TBB list.
