Today we Book Lovers are relinquishing command to the lovely Cynthia Eden who is going to chat about why she loves Book Blogs – a topic I’m sure you all will enjoy! “Deadly Fear“ the first book in Cynthia’s Deadly Romantic Suspense Series was released to rave reviews in July 2010, and the second in the series “Deadly Heat” has just hit the bookshelves! Be sure to read to the end of the post as Cynthia has generously offered one of her awesome books for one lucky commenter!
Happy Blogoversary!!
In honor of the blogoversary, I thought I’d list my reasons for loving book blogs:
1. They help to increase my TBR pile. I get great recommendations and that sure makes me hungry for more books. Now that I have my Kindle, I don’t have to worry about the fact that I don’t have shelf space for the books—I can just add to my e-pile and add to it.
2. Hot covers. Oh, sweet goodness. Book Lovers, Inc. has sure shared some hot covers. Love ‘em.
3. Insider news. I get good scoops from good blogs. Learn about what’s coming up from my favorite authors—and when I find out that a new series is coming—ah, bliss.
4. A good book blog is like my mothership. A great place to visit with a ton of other folks who love romance books just as much as I do. And what do we talk about on the mothership? The books we love! The books we understand! Finally, to be with others who get me!
5. It’s a blog that focuses on books…come on, what’s not to love?
And since it is the blogoversary, I thought the lovely folks at Book Lovers, Inc. should get to take the day off. The hero from my latest release, DEADLY HEAT, eagerly volunteered to jump in for them and provide a review of the book. So, ahem, here is Kenton Lake’s totally unbiased review:
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Length: Novel
She wants revenge . . .
Six months after her lover died in an arsonist’s blaze, firefighter Lora Spade calls in the FBI’s elite Serial Services Division to track the elusive killer. When Special Agent Kenton Lake is lured into a violent inferno, Lora pulls him to safety and is stunned – not by the fire, but by her own searing attraction to Kent. For the first time in months, she longs for something other than vengeance.
He wants her . . .
Kenton’s interest in Lora should be purely professional. But one fleeting kiss and he can’t get her out of his mind. Her combination of strength and vulnerability makes him want to protect her, and that means solving this case – and fast. For even the passion igniting between them can’t hide a terrifying truth: Lora is the next target in a murderer’s sadistic, fiery game.
A vicious killer wants only . . .
“The book is awesome. Read it. Love it.”
I asked him for more info. He then added,
“There’s fire. Sex. A killer. Romance. Me—taking care of business.”
Right…Kenton’s an FBI agent who tracks down serial killers. Since a serial arsonist in on the loose in DEADLY HEAT, he’d *better* be taking care of business.
Hmmm…perhaps the book reviewing should just be left to the professionals…
To help celebrate the blogoversary, I’m giving away a copy of DEADLY HEAT to a commenter. Just tell me your all-time favorite book. One commenter will be picked at random to win.
Thanks for checking out my post!
Best wishes,
Cynthia Eden

I love book blogs because I like to read everyone's opinions and preferences. I don't have a local book club so going to blogs & commenting helps me feel part of the reading community. Knowing I'm not the only person with a book addiction helps too!

I love book blogs because I find new books to read and I love reading different reviews from different bloggers.

My favorite book is Outlander. And why I love book blogs? Because it feels like I have someone else to talk to about great books! No one else in my friends/family circle read nearly as much as I do!

Hands down, Lover Awakened by JR Ward. I can't count how many times that I have read this book. I just love the relationship between Zsadist and Bella. I love that we are able to see beyond his tough exterior and see the man beneath.

All time favorite is a hard one for me, it seems to change with every new book I read. If I have to list one, it would be Lynn Kurland's Stardust of Yesterday.
I think my all time favourite book is Heartless by Mary Balogh but I have quite a few others banging on the door!
All-time favorite? That's a hard question because it really depends on my mood. Still, how about P. G. Wodehouse's "Jeeves in the Morning"? It is considered the best of the Jeeves and Wooster stories.

Favorite book can change with almost every book I read, but I'll have to say that my all time favorite is probably Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Devereaux (sp). I think it had a lot to do with the time in my life that I read it. years ago now.

My all-time favourite book is Halfway to the Grave from Jeaniene Frost. I'm a huge paranormal romantic fan, and I have read dozens of books in this gendre, but I loved the Night Huntress series the most. I read it in English, but I even bought it in Hungarian, too, to loan it to my friends. They loved Cat and Bones' story as much as I did =)
