Beauty Queens by Libba Bray
From bestselling, Printz Award-winning author Libba Bray, the story of a plane of beauty pageant contestants that crashes on a desert island.
Teen beauty queens. A “Lost”-like island. Mysteries and dangers. No access to email. And the spirit of fierce, feral competition that lives underground in girls, a savage brutality that can only be revealed by a journey into the heart of non-exfoliated darkness. Oh, the horror, the horror! Only funnier. With evening gowns. And a body count.
I have to say a few here have caught my eye. Bourdertown looks really good and I really like my anthologies. 🙂 And BloodMagic sounds interesting, oh crap… there are a few that sound interesting and great. 🙂 Thank you!
@Melissa – Bordertown has some great authors in it. May have to check it out. I love the cover of Blood Magic. The Girl with the Steel Corset is steampunk…I'm a smidge curious 🙂
I'm actually quite glad that this week, there aren't any releases I absolutely HAVE to have. Lets me save some pennies for July, which is going to be MAJOR!! ^_^
Case in point:
Skin Dive, Dead Iron, My Life as a White Trash Zombie, Viper Moon, Rebirth, Shadowflame…
and even in June:
Eternal Hearts, Hitlist, Nightfall, Heartless, Taken By Fire, Black Heart Loa
Definitely a squee-worthy summer coming up. ^_^
I’ve heard good things about the Stefanie Sloane book and, since I love historical romance, that one looks good to me. Thanks for the update.
Wow, it's a kids/YA book week for me!
@Alisha – I'm sad at not being able to tempt you with any of these releases, lol. The summer does seem to have great books to look forward to, I only wish there more more beach reading time available *sigh*
@LSUReader – It does look good. I may check that one out one of these days too.
@Sheree – It did seem like most of the interesting titles this week fell under the YA category. Enjoy!
Seems like not so much interesting read for this week 🙁
But I want to read Blood Magic by Tessa Gratton. Love the cover. For adult genre, Cheyenne McCray in one of my fave author and looking forward to read Zombies Sold Separately. Mind Games look good too
Thanks for the head up, Jackie! 😀
