This week we decided to highlight some covers who usually don’t get that much of positive attention- ebooks. We know that there are some pretty ugly ones out there but there are also some pretty awesome ones.
So today is all about the pretties! Let us know what you think.
Susi: I so adore this cover. It is just perfect- I love the composition and the way everything just fits together. It just as dreamy and fantastic as the books. So awesome.
So first I so can’ wait for the Petal books and OMG this cover is made of awesomesauce. This will be one of my all time favorite covers. That’s woman just looks awesome and she has polka dots *g* More woman on covers should wear polka dots.
Rakes and Radishes – I think this one of the few historicals that I ever likes. I kind of like their pose and how he holds her waist. And the girl looks super cute.
Caro: I know we’ve already talked about the Kisri cover but it’s so pretty it should be featured again. I love the sensuality of this cover. Yes if we want to be honest it’s not really the heroine but who cares? It’s so pretty *g*
Once and Again is fascinating. I love the colors I love the style, the polka dots. It’s gorgeous. I can’t wait for this book.
I have to agree with you about the Rakes and Radishes cover. I find it cute and sensual and it’s different from the usual Historical romance covers. Her dress is far from ordinary. The landscape looks warm and I’d love to visit. 2 thumbs up.
Caro: I think the cover of Photographs and Phantoms gets better the more you look at it. At first glance it’s not exceptional. I don’t even like the font. But the pics on the cover are intriguing. I love the woman who looks like a saint with a halo. I wouldn’t say it’s great but the details are making it interesting.
First, the title of the Robyn book is funny, I love the fact that they used the title of a famous book. It might be blue, but it’s electrifying. Yes i’m talking about the lightning around her arm. I love the dress and the color. It’s really pretty.
OHHH the Josh Lanyon cover is NOM NOM. That guys looks like the descendent of a cowboy. NOM The tones are warm and I want to touch him. NOM Did I say it was nom?
Susi: Yes I agree about the Gaslight Chronicles cover- it is one that catches your attention more with every glance you take at it. I love all the small steampunk things you can discover. And love the way the woman looks up. It makes me wanna find out what she sees.
Yes I love that title too- it is fun and intriguing and OMG i Love how she holds her hand and how we see her back with wonderful fastening. *g* And yes I noticed that it is kind of blue but I don’t care. That says something!
The Josh Lanyon cover is amazing- his face and how he looks out of the window- pondering and thinking about something- makes me wanna hug him till he feel better. I also love that everything is kept in these warm brown shades. It kind of makes me think of warm night in front of a fireplace in a nice and cozy place in the mountain where no one will disturb your peace. And look this cuty is loney. *runs to keep him company*
Caro: Sadly I think he’d rather you sent your BF over there 😉 LOL
Susi: I so adore this cover- this one of these books I got just because it looks pretty. I love the pose of the woman. Her skin is so wonderfully brown and shines in the sunshine. And the landscape screams fantasy world to me. And the font is so dreamingly too. Just awesome.
I really like the Old Sins cover. He looks so strong and struggling- you know one of those bad good guys with a problem. Ohhh I could thing of so many things to make him feel better. And I adore the texture they used. And the font- let’s say I pretty much like that cover.
I think what I love most about Shiloh’s cover is that it is refreshingly different. I love this pop-art design (I know you would have never guessed) and the colors are just wonderfully balanced. Pretty cool cover.
Caro: I agree completely about
Salome at Sunrise. it’s gorgeous. I have
(nearly) nothing to say about it… well there is this small thing though… I know this is my weird weird mind acting up but each time I see that bird just ABOVE her face…I’m seriously hoping he won’t start pooping on her face. There I’ve said it. Don’t look at me like that!
So I will again look like a crazy woman but when I first saw the Old Sins cover, I thought the man’s pose was weird. It looks like he’s been talking to his hands or something. Then my second though was ‘hey he looks like one of those ‘Invisible LOLCats’ O_o (see pic on the right), don’t even ask. I do like the cover though, he’s pretty HOOOOT and the texture of the cover looks great.
I really like the Shilow Walker cover. It’s pretty and different. I like the light colors too. That guy remind me of someone but i can’t place it.
Susi: I really love this cover and not only cuz it has this resmblance to the sin city poster. The pose rocks and the rain gives it this certain amount of suspense. And I love how they made the word ghost so ghostly.
Caro: The first thing I thought when I saw this cover was ‘BRUCE WILLIS’! Ah and yep indeed this cover looks very much like the poster of Sin City? I’m not sure I like this cover much though. I keep thinking about Sin City. And if I have to compare I liked it beter 😉
Susi: I prefer the Sin City one though cuz I love the red. All the posters for that movie were just awesomesauce- the black & white in contrast to the red or the hair of Jessica Alba- just perfect.
Caro: Oh no! I’ve let the Sin-City-fangirl loose! Someone please save me! *g* *hides*
Susi: That movie just rocks! Pah!
Caro: *backs away slowly* of course it does *looks alarmed* LOL
*breaking glass sounds* <=== this is the sound of our friendship breaking into pieces.

Samhain always has really awesome covers- they never disappoint!
I love a good cover, especially now on my e-reader as screen saver. But the darn thing is black and white only! These covers look great here but take away the colour? (And you picked very pretty covers =) *Sigh*, I'll just have to save up for a better e-reader, I guess.
And the Sin City poster is better cuz the rain is coming down but is also slashing sideways; that's WAY cooler, lol.
@Emily Yes I agree. Some of my favorite ones are from Samhain. *g*
@Jackie Mine doesn't have one. Me wants a screensaver. You know that it is totally Caro's fault that I'm lusting after a KIndle? Me wants! And yes I agree about Sin City- that movie is just awesomesauce. But Keith'S cover is kick ass too.
I really like the Kisri and Once Again covers! The models are pretty, but all the colors and the fantasy elements are awesome! And the polka dots!<3 So cool!
I love the steampunk elements on Photographs and phantoms! Maybe I should pick up that book!:))
And I LOVE the cover of that Robyn book. Really, it's my favorite. Love the dress, the colors, the fantasy, mystery feel of it, the electrifying thingie… Gorgeous!<3
*drools over the Josh Lanyon cover*
LOL about the bird thing! And yeah, I see the resemblance with the cat too!LMAO
@Emily I have to agree! They are the ones who made me change my mind about Ebook covers. I used to think ebook covers always sucked. 😉
@Jackie I also wish I have an Ereader with screen savers. Colors would be great. At least for the pics. *sigh*
I'm not sure many ereaders do that though … :/
@Susi Hey!! Not my fault!! I'm not sure Kindle has colors though so we're safe hon 😉
@Deea YAY I knew I wasn't THAT crazy 😉 I think Susi and I both fell instantaneously in love with the polka dots! *g*
Those are pretty covers! About "Rakes and Radishes", the first time I saw the cover, I was a bit surprised to see Nathan Kamp on an ebook, but it's pretty and has the Tessa Dare treatment (characters/title&aauthor/landscape).
@Deea Me too- I adore the polka dots.
@pattepoilue you know it's your fault. =P
@Sheree I'm always astonished that you know the model's names. LOL
Some great covers here =)
