Hope everyone had a great week and that you all have a fantastic weekend! This week we have another death in Romancelandia sadly and an interesting rumour with Apple and Barnes and Noble.
The Smart Bitches has a post celebrating LA Banks life and books which you can check out here –
There is a rumour that seems to be growing in steam that Apple is interesting in purchasing Barnes and Noble. Now this move would be able for them to compete properly with Amazon and will certainly make things interesting in the world of epublishing and ereaders. However my spidey senses is aringing that this may not be a good thing.
Ilona Andrews has announced that Kate 6 has been pushed back until 2013 but there will be another Edge book and an Andrea spinnoff (WOOT) which will feature Kate and Curran as side characters. More info on the scheduling check here.
Now time for new covers! And we have plenty of good stuff to show you.
Let’s start with Nalini Singh’s Angel’s Flight cover coming out in March 2012
Then we have Rachel Caine‘s Unbroken cover. This book is coming out in February 2012, it’s the 4th book in the Outcast Season series.
And last but not least, we have the cover for Kim Harrison‘s new book, A Perfect Blood coming out in February 2012. (Caro’s 2 cents : I love love love this cover!!!) :
Ritually murdered corpses are appearing across Cincinnati, terrifying amalgams of human and other. Pulled in to help investigate by the FIB, former witch turned day-walking demon Rachel Morgan soon realizes a horrifying truth — a would-be creator is determined to make his (or her) own demons. But it can’t be done without Rachel’s blood.
As a bounty hunter, Rachel has battled vampires, witches, werewolves, demons, and more. But humanity itself might be her toughest challenge.

Sad, sad news about Banks.
The three featured covers all are nice. I agree with Caro on the Harrison cover.
Apple and B&N? Maybe that would compete with the mega-Amazon! Thanks for the info.
So sad for L. A. Banks' family. I don't remember if I have read any of her books though. Maybe I should pick up a couple the next time I'm in the library.
Love the new covers! Can't wait!
My thoughts go out to Banks family and friends – sad news.
Also sad that Kate 6 is pushed back another year, but a whole book for Andrea – woot!! She's one of my favourite characters and her story wasn't resolved in Magic Slays so I love the idea that she gets a whole book to sort out Auntie B and Raphael. 🙂
Hm, the Apple news is interesting. A little competition between booksellers can only be a good thing, right? Right?
