My Wishlist: the Absolutely-Must-Have-Now Edition

Hey Everyone!

I’m here today to share with you some books which literally make me itch and bounce with impatience. I want them. Now.

You know that kind of excitement which makes you jittery and snappy because you start acting like an impatient 5 year-old who doesn’t get his/her ice cream immediately.

So it’s a good thing I only have to survive a couple more weeks before I can get my paws on them.

So let me show you some of those new releases which have me in such a state 🙂

Blood Bound by Rachel Vincent (Book #1 in the Unbound series)

By blood, by word, by magic…

Most can’t touch the power. But Liv Warren is special – a paranormal tracker who follows the scent of blood.

Liv makes her own rules, and the most important one is trust no one.

But when her friend’s daughter goes missing, Liv has no choice but to find the girl. Thanks to a childhood oath, Liv can’t rest until the child is home safe. But that means trusting Cam Caballero, the former lover forbidden to her.

Bound by oath and lost in desire for a man she cannot have, Liv is racing to save the child from a dark criminal underworld where secrets, lies, trauma and danger lurk around every corner…every touch…every kiss.

And more blood will be spilled before it’s over…

I just recently discovered Rachel Vincent’s writing (read Stray last week, but since then gobbled up the next 2 books) and discovered a new favourite, absolutely-must-autobuy-author! This is the book which makes me physically sick I get so jittery and excited to discover the new world Rachel Vincent has created.

and here is the official trailer,

Aren’t you excited to read it?

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead (Book #1 in the Bloodlines series)

The first book in Richelle Mead’s brand-new teen fiction series – set in the same world as Vampire Academy.

When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive – this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone’s out for blood

I never knew I could love YA as a genre until I discovered Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series and fell hard for her writing and characters. So of course I’m excited to read the spinoff, even if I don’t really like the cover :-/

Enemy Mine by Karin Harlow
(Book #2 in the L.O.S.T. series)
Lovers from opposite worlds reunite in Karin Harlow’s explosive, erotic new L.O.S.T. adventure. . . .

While tracking a hijacked cask of enriched uranium in Kyrgyzstan, L.O.S.T. operative Nikko Cruz is ambushed and left for dead. Which means he must be hallucinating when the only woman he ever loved—the woman he was sentenced to death for killing—comes to his rescue. Half-daemon Selena Guererro has secrets she’d kill for. The most important one, she’s already died to protect. Now she’ll do anything to keep her daughter safe. But she can’t just leave her lost love to perish. She injects Nikko with immortal blood serum, putting herself in grave danger.

When Nikko comes to, he is superhuman and super pissed. The mother of his daughter—the one he thought killed their child—is alive. He wants answers. He wants blood. And despite his best intentions, he wants Selena. He traces her to a mysterious terrorist cell where the cask has surfaced. First, he must retrieve the deadly material. Then he’ll take revenge on his beautiful ex. But when nothing goes as planned, Nikko and Selena find themselves burning with desire . . . and blowing the roof off their separate worlds, human and daemon alike.

Book #2 in a great series! Again I’m not too fond of the cover :-/

And now something completely different:

A Midnight Dance by Lila DiPasqua
(Book #3 in the Fiery Tales)

Inspired by the tale of Cinderella, Lila DiPasqua weaves a steamy story that offers a glass slipper, a dangerous deception, and an impoverished beauty determined to find her handsome prince…and make him pay.

Born into wealth, Sabine Laurent and her twin sister lived a life of luxury, their father’s prestigious theater frequented by royalty and aristocracy alike. And Sabine dreamed of her own prince charming—the devastatingly handsome Jules de Moutier.

That was before the loss of her sister and her family’s fall from grace—a disaster Sabine blames on the Moutier family. Now, with her father’s death, she’s inherited his sizable debt and the responsibility of caring for his spoiled long-time mistress and her two wastrel daughters. But with the help of Sabine’s eccentric friends—the balance of her father’s acting troupe—she plans to get very close to her old infatuation, seduce the rake—and make away with a fortune.

Resisting Jules’s skillful mouth and tantalizing touch is not as easy as Sabine supposed. And soon she must decide whether her desire for vengeance is greater than her desire for her one and only prince.

I love Lila DiPasqua’s steamy fairy tale retellings and when I heard she was (finally!) writing a full length novel and that it was a Cinderella retelling (my favourite fairy tale) I squeed! I’m sure it will be amazing (once again I don’t really like the cover, would have preferred something darker, more mysterious with twinling stars, etc.)

p.s. This post was so not a good idea! Now I’m even more revved up and excited to read these :-/

So tell me, which are your absolutely-must-have wishlist items?

Do you have to wait long to get them? (I feel for you in that case)

My must have reads are still in the mail somewhere!!! *shakes fist at the mailmen*
And I wouldn't mind getting my trotters on some ARC's of books that haven't been released yet, like Midnight by Ellen Connor or The mortal Bone by M.M. Liu to name just a few of many.

Never mind that my TBR pile is growing giddily at an atrocious speed, I am always bouncing with impatience for books. It seems for every book I read there are at least two or three books added on. A happy world is one with too much great books around. Recently I finished the Fever series and I am anticipating Moning's next books. There is supposed to be a graphic book about Mac in the works. Also there is spinoff series about the Fever world. So far, no news on a release date so the waiting continues. The upside I have PLENTY of books I cannot wait to read right here with me 🙂

I have to agree with you for Blood Bound and Bloodlines – can't wait for them to come out. I'm also excited Dust and Decay by Jonathan Maberry – I loved the zombie fun of Rot and Ruin so much! ALso the final succubus book by Richelle Mead – Succubus Revealed – it was my first Richelle Mead series and I love it! 🙂

  • Blodeuedd August 11, 2011 at 3:40 pm

The rest are later ones and books that are out and I need

  • Rachel Brooks August 11, 2011 at 3:48 pm

These books look great! I hate waiting for books to be released, especially when they are a sequel to a cliffhanger!

Also, I’m a new follower— awesome blog! Stop by my blog and follow me too? 🙂 http://rachelbrookswrites.blogspot.com/

I'm up to date for now but do have a wishlist for September:
    Nalini Singh's Archangel's Blade
    Linda Howard's The Prey

  • Stella (Ex Libris) August 12, 2011 at 8:19 am

@Melissa: you're welcome, I'm always happy to help others expand their TBR piles ;-p

@Sullivan McPig: Ooh sounds good 😀 And yep, the mailman also has some of my darlings as hostage 🙁 grr!

@Na: Oh tell me about it! 😀 My room is getting too small for all my books! lol I have to confess that I haven't read the fever series yet, but since everyone keeps praising it, it is on my wishlist!

@Mel: Yeah, the only reason I havenm't included Richelle Mead's new Succubus novel is because I still have to start reading that series, but I'm certainly looking forward to it.

@Blodeuedd: Oh my!! Did you receive an ARC or how can yo already have your own copy? Is there a company which ships early? (pretty pretty please tell me! *this is Stella begging*)

@Rachel Brooks: Hey Rachel! *waves* Welcome to Book Lovers Inc! 😀
Exactly! That's why I prefer to start a series when I already have a few of the books on hand, can't survive waiting months for the sequel after a brutal cliffhanger.

@Diane: Nalini Singh's series are on my TBR list as I haven't discovered them yet *blushes* but keep hearing great things about them (bothe the Archangel and the Psy series)!

  • Melanie S. August 12, 2011 at 1:53 pm

You sure have a way to add books to my wishlist *g*

and yes, every time it seems like an eternity until a book is released, regardless of how long I have to wait for it.

  • Stella (Ex Libris) August 14, 2011 at 3:14 am

Melanie S: LOL, glad I could make your wishlist expand as well, would have hated not to share all these promising upcoming releases and keep them all to myself ;-p

  • Ren August 15, 2011 at 2:16 pm

Whoa Stella, Nalini Singh is a must! I love her writing, esp the Guild Hunter series. If you overwhelmed with the amount of her other series, Psy Changeling, try Guild Hunter first. Its have less science fiction part and not too much character like Psy-Changeling 🙂

My wishlist is Archangel's Blade by Nalini Singh, One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost and Wings of Fire by Caris Roane. Already preorder all from bookdepository. Can't wait to read Bones! 😀
