Lea: Anne! Welcome to back BLI, I’m so excited to be able to chat with you about Pleasure Bound today! Since you visited previously and talked about your writing process I want to cut right to the chase and talk about Pleasure Bound, which is Deanna Harrison and Jonas Phoenix’ story.
Anne: Thanks so much for having me back here! It’s always a good time!
Lea: What can we expect of Pleasure Bound?
Anne: Deanna is a smart gal. She knows what she wants in a career, and in a man. She enjoys pleasing her family like any good sister and daughter, but she’s also determined to stand on her own two feet. And even though her brothers aren’t so sure Jonas is the right guy for her, Deanna aims to find that out for herself. She’s pretty independent, but not so much that she doesn’t call her mom for relationship advice when necessary!
Lea: You wove a surprise suspense subplot into the narrative of Pleasure Bound, without giving away any spoilers can you maybe share a tidbit about what it entails?
Anne: Without giving too much away, Deanna gets herself into some trouble with a drug dealer. Toss in a distraught father with a loaded weapon and you have quite a mess!
Lea: You are known for your connected stories and writing close family ties into the plots. Pleasure Bound is no exception. Please tell us a little about the Harrison’s and how much it has meant to Jonas to be accepted as one of the clan.
Anne: At first, Jonas isn’t sure what to make of the Harrisons. They’re a close family. Huggers. The first time he meets them he feels like a total outsider. It’s not long before he realizes all that he’s missed out on. His parents are cold and distant, but Wade’s mom is sweet and nurturing. It means a lot to him that the Harrisons have accepted him as one of their own. Wade is like a brother to him and he doesn’t want to do anything to damage that relationship—then Jonas goes and falls for Wade’s little sister. Yikes!
Lea: I really liked the way you gave readers a peek into how Wade and Gracie are doing who were the hero and heroine of So Sensitive. Would you advise readers new to the series to read So Sensitive first or do you think the series can be read out of sequence?
Well, I do try to write all my stories as stand-alones and Pleasure Bound is no different. But to understand the characters and their motivations fully, and get the whole picture of the Harrison bunch, I think the series should be read in order.
Lea: Is Pleasure Bound hot? lol
Anne: Super hot. We’re talking rope, spankings, a wickedly naughty video chat, and more!
Lea: Yummy!
Naked Games, the third and final book of the series is sexy, jaded Dean Harrison and Catherine Michaels story. While readers never meet Catherine she is introduced in Pleasure Bound. Do you have a little tidbit to share about Naked Games Anne?
Anne: The entire gang comes out to play in Naked Games! The story starts out with Catherine finding out that she’s adopted and that she has a sister she never knew about. She flies from Georgia to Ohio in her need to connect with Gracie, her newfound sibling. It’s here that she meets the brooding, distrustful Dean Harrison. He’s the only person among Gracie’s family and friends who seems to think she has some hidden agenda. Catherine wants to win him over, but Dean is stubborn. He’s been hurt by a woman before and he’s determined to never let it happen again. I’m afraid to say that poor Catherine has her work cut out for her!
Lea: What can we expect next from the desk of Anne Rainey?
I’m currently working on my Blackwater series. Five brothers, all with a chip on their shoulder and all badly in need of loving. Sam’s Promise is the first book and it releases on December 13th.
Lea: Please summarize Pleasure Bound for us twitterstyle (in 140 characters or less). 😉
Jonas Phoenix has it bad for Deanna Harrison. But Deanna is sending him all sorts of hands off vibes. Good thing Jonas likes a challenge!
Lea: Now can you tell us 3 reasons why people should read Pleasure Bound?
There’s a hunky computer geek who just happens to be really good with his hands.
An intelligent heroine who will learn not to judge a man by his orneriness.
And a steamy video chat that will have you looking at Skype in a very different light.
Lea: Do you have a question you would like to ask commenters today?
Anne: Do you have a favorite computer geek hero?
Lea: Anne, once again, thank you for joining us here at BLI. As always it’s been a real pleasure. 😉
Anne: Thank YOU!

I haven't read any books with "geeky" heroes! I know, right?! So I would love to try your book 🙂 Thanks for the post.
Geeks and nerds can be very sexy – cast your mind back to MacGyver. We loved him for his brain, right? (Not entirely…)
Vicki Lewis Thompson has done several delightful geek heros, starting with Jackson Farley in Nerd in Shining Armor.
Pleasure Bound sounds great – thanks for the giveaway!

I cannot remember the name of the story, but it's part of a novella. There's a hot hunky computer tech guy that comes to help a woman who has problems with her computer… he discovers it's because someone is looking at porn on the computer, and he helps her to install a camera to catch the culprit! I wish I could remember the name of the book!! Gah!

He's so Shy by Lena Mathews had a cute nerd in it! Anne never fails to deliver an awesome read! I live her character building and can't wait to read this.
great interview and i love the cover for Pleasure Bound
reginamayross@gmail.com
Not read any books on geeks or nerds, but I bet there could be some good spins on them
Sara–The book you're thinking of is one of the novellas in Body Rush. One of mine! LOL!
Mickie–I've heard such great things about Thompson's nerd series. I need to get those!
Regina–I was pretty pleased with that cover too. I've been told that the cover for the third book in the series, Naked Games, is very close to being finalized. Needless to say, I'm anxious to see it!
I don't have a "Favorite Computer Geek Hero" because I love them all 😛 I'm a huge computer geek myself, with a naughty side…. Geeks Are Sexy <3~
Nope. Not a computer geek. Though I do love Kelley Armstrong's Lucas but his an attorney.
Thanks for the giveaway. Your books sound great.
vsloboda(at)gmail(dot)com
ChilliwackChick–I'm married to a computer geek, so I totally agree with you!
Victoria–I'm adding that to my TBB List! 🙂
Thanks for the interview, I enjoyed reading it. I don't know if he qualifies as a nerd, but Lara Adrians' Breed series has Gideon as their whiz. He can hack into anything. Also Alexis Morgan has one: D.J. Clayborn. Can you say hot? I still have to read his story though.
International reader, auriansbooks@gmail.com.
Not a literary reference, but loved Tom Cruise in Minority Report. He certainly knows how to work those computers!
Please enter me in the wonderful international giveaway.

Aurian–I keep meaning to read Lara Adrian's books and I just keep putting it off. I need to get started on them!
Katie–I watched that movie 3 times. I loved it too! 🙂
My favorite computer geek hero is Berghof aka Shadow Walker in the show Nikita in CW. Does that count? 🙂

Great interview! I really enjoy reading a bit of the background stuff in regards to your characters. Thanks for sharing that 🙂

I can't remember one off the top of my head at this moment but I'm always looking for new books to read. I would love to win this.

I think the hunkiest computer nerd of all is Roarke from JD Robb's In death series!

I think most of the "geeks" I read about tend to be scientists. There was a light PNR by Lynsay Sands who had a computer games designer geek, & I liked him.

Estella–I LOVE Roarke! He's my favorite!
June–That sounds like an interesting read. 🙂
Great interview!!! I've got to get these books!!!
I don't have a favorite computer geek guy in character form, but I do know a computer geek whose very hot!!! 🙂 Does that count?
hugs,
billi jean
The first one that popped in my mind is more of a pilot than computer geek. I love Alan Tudyk who played Wash in Serenity.

Great interview ladies.this sounds like a super hot book that I cannot wait to read.
As for geeky heroes..I'm not sure.lol.I think there was one in a Vivian Arend book that I read.Maxwell Turner in Turn it up.(if I remember right)
elaing8(at)netscape(dot)net
It would appear that Estella (and you) and I have the same good taste, because the first name that came immediately to mind for me was also Roarke from JD Robb's In Death series. The other computer geek that came to mind is not from a book, but from the tv show Covert Affairs (USA) – Christopher Gorham is HOT!
Good interview – enjoyed it and eager to read Pleasure Bound!
kacbooks(at)hotmail(dot)com
Karen–I LOVE Covert Affairs!
And I don't think anyone mentioned Lucy Monroe. Her boo, The Real Deal, had a geek (of some sort) in it. And he was super sexy!
Great interview! I totally understand the "little sister" rule when it comes to guys- I'm a little sister myself:) I have a soft spot for geeks- especially hot ones *wink*- so I look forward to reading it.

I adore geeks! My favourite is Macgyver. I loved to watch this series. In books I can remember one in Zoe Archer's latest series (can't remember name of either).
I'm really looking forward to reading your new book.
Thanks for the giveaway.

Thanks, Sarah and Claudia! 🙂
Zina–Jayne writes awesome stuff, for sure! 🙂
I always thought Clark Kent was a geek lol but turns he was superman. Please enter me in contest. Tore923@aol.com
Sounds like a great series! How do you keep all the different characters straight? Especially over three books?
smaccall AT comcast.net
Cool Interview. It made me realize that I don't read a lot of books with computer geek as heroes. Although, I think that would be fun. One character sort of came to mind – Ken Karmody from Suz Brockmann's Out of Control. She wrote him as a bit of a computer genius, but he's also a Navy Seal, so he wasn't written as a stereotypical geek.
jend451 at gmail dot com
bookwyrm–Actually, it's pretty easy. I suppose because the characters are so real in the author's mind. 🙂
Brockmann's heroes are HOT! LOL!
As Lea said – Yummy! There a a couple cute computer geeks on the NCIS shows and I recently watched an older movie called Sneakers with a bunch of computer geeks (plus Robert Redford).
sallans d at yahoo dot com
One of my favorite Computer Geek hero is Timothy McGee played by actor Sean Murray in NCIS. Ever since he came onto the show, he just adds that needed geek factor that plays well off of the other 'geeks' in the show.
As for the written word, I love Brockmann's heroes. They are the tough, strong, muscled men that are also highly intelligent. Love rereading her books.
Of course, I also enjoy Anne's books. I have several of hers that I reread when the mood hits me. Books are my escape; my instant ticket to somewhere other then where I am now.

My favorite computer geek character are the ones by Vicki Lewis Thompson.
She creates amazing heroes.

Di–I love NCIS: LA. And I agree about Sneakers. That movie brings me way back! 🙂
Aw, thanks Ashley!! 🙂
I will have to say my husband but to be truthful I don't seem him as geek. though he is very much into computers. 🙂

Hi Anne! So love your books from the very first debut of yours! I feel spoiled when reading your books knowing that they will be a huge delight to read! Thrilled you with NY too! What are some of the differences for you that were hard from writing with the eBook pubs and with NY. I know for me as a reader, its the wait til they are out! 🙂
Caffey
cathiecaffey @ gmail.com
Larena–My husband works in an IT department so I know what you mean about computer hubbys. 🙂
Hi Cathie! The hardest thing to get used to with NY publishing is the editing process. I'm used to doing them on the computer with track changes in Word. My NY pub does them all on paper. Sticky notes, red pencil, the works. Very difficult process, IMO.
I married my geeky hero. Hey, my internet connection is working, right? =P
tiredwkids at live dot com
Umm, Scott Pilgrim, he's pretty geeky (though I'm not sure if it's computery), or maybe Chuck (from you know the tv show) but I've only watched like the beginning of that. Thanks for the giveaway! I'm international, and your books sound really good.

Hi Anne, Can't think of any books I read that have geeks in them, but in film, I love Jeff Goldblum in Cats & Dogs, or in Independance Day, I don't know what it is about him, but he works it, LOL, Thank-you for a great give-away, I am from the U.K.

I don't htink I have read a lot of books with computer nerds/geeks. But I totally agree with MacGyver and Timothy Mcgee from NCIS. I loved the first book in this series, I had to run out and get it after it was reviewed on this site a few months ago, I can;t wait to read this one as well. Thanks for the giveaway!

Tanya–I'm so glad you enjoyed So Sensitive!! Makes my day. 🙂
I do not have a favorite computer geek but I sure do love your books and just finished reading three of yours which I was not able to put down AFTER I decided which ones to read first. That was hardest thing for me to decide. susan Leech garysue@dejazzd.com
