Welcome to this week’s news post, and we have more news of Agency pricing settlements but in the EU territories, more book news and covers to watch out for!
The major news in the world of publishing and books, is the ongoing saga of the Agency pricing, like their US counterparts, the EU has reached an agreement with four of the big 6 Publishers. Simon & Schuster, Hachette, HarperCollins and Macmillan as well as Apple will drop the Agency agreement and will allow discounts and special offers and credit points from online vendors. At the moment, the settlement is open to comments and a public consultation over the terms which slightly differs from the US over the aggregate amount of discounts allowed. There is also no mention or an agreement of customers offered a compensation such as in the US. For more details over the settlement, click here.
The spate of erotic romance novels isn’t going away – this week announced a huge deal with Maya Banks who will be writing a brand new trilogy (yep with Billionaires) for Berkley which will start early next year. The three book deal will follow three billionaire heroes who find love, Rush (Feb 2013), Fever (Apr 2013) and Burn (Aug 2013).
And this new deal caught my eye although the premise is a bit out there – former adult entertainment star Sasha Grey will be penning an erotic Fight Club style book. The book will be entitled The Julliette Society and will feature an assertive sexual heroine, and the book will be published via Grand Central Publishing. It will be interesting to see how this pans out but the idea of a Fight Clubesque erotic book is interesting although not that sexy to me.
It seems India is shaping up to be a huge market in publishing with a few publishers focusing in releasing their books and starting imprints there. Bloomsbury has announced they will also be launching an Indian publishing arm and will focus to release books by Margaret Atwood and JK Rowling there very soon.

And now for books to watch out for!
We have an exclusive cover reveal for Opal by Jennifer L Armentrout which is linked to a huge giveaway! This is the 3rd Lux novel and I hear this is a fantastic YA series.
No one is like Daemon Black.
When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well… There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger… and they know it.

The final Across the Universe book, is slated for release soon – I highly recommend this trilogy!
The final book in the trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Beth Revis!
Amy and Elder have finally left the oppressive walls of the spaceship Godspeed behind. They’re ready to start life afresh–to build a home–on Centauri-Earth, the planet that Amy has traveled 25 trillion miles across the universe to experience. But this new Earth isn’t the paradise that Amy had been hoping for. Amy and Elder must race to uncover who–or what–else is out there if they are to have any hope of saving their struggling colony and building a future together. But as each new discovery brings more danger, Amy and Elder will have to look inward to the very fabric of what makes them human on this, their most harrowing journey yet. Because if the colony collapses? Then everything they have sacrificed–friends, family, life on Earth–will have been meaningless.
I really enjoyed the first book in this fantasy series, Grave Mercy – the follow-up, Dark Triumph is scheduled for release next April but I highly recommend it because I love the premise of assassin like nuns with a huge dollop of political intrigue. The heroine in this book, is also a bit psychotic and I look forward to see how her story pans out! I can’t wait!
Sybella arrives at the convent’s doorstep half mad with grief and despair. Those that serve Death are only too happy to offer her refuge—but at a price. Naturally skilled in both the arts of death and seduction, the convent views Sybella as one of their most dangerous weapons.
But those assassin’s skills are little comfort when the convent returns her to a life that nearly drove her mad. Her father’s rage and brutality are terrifying, and her brother’s love is equally monstrous. And while Sybella is a weapon of justice wrought by the god of Death himself, He must give her a reason to live. When she discovers an unexpected ally imprisoned in the dungeons, will a daughter of Death find something other than vengeance to live for?
This heart-pounding sequel to Grave Mercy serves betrayal, treachery, and danger in equal measure, bringing readers back to fifteenth century Brittany and will keep them on the edge of their seats.
