Today we are happy to once again welcome back to Book Lovers Inc. the lovely Erin Nicholas who is celebrating the release of Just a Kiss, the last book in her Bradfords series! 🙁 (I was lucky enough to read a copy of it and can tell you it was utterly delicious! 😉 So don’t wait a second more, get your copy as soon as you can.) Erin brings us today Kevin and Eve, the hero and heroine of Just a Kiss as they compete in a round of the Newlywed Game! Take a seat and cheer them on, and you could even win a copy of Just a Kiss! 😀
Thanks for letting me be here today and giving me the chance to introduce everyone to two people I’m very fond of, Kevin Campbell and Eve Donnelly, the hero and heroine from my latest release, Just A Kiss!
Kevin and Eve are a little different from the other couples I’ve written in a very important way—they have a long history. It’s not just that they’ve known each other since high school. They eloped after graduation and have been married for fourteen years…even though they haven’t seen each other or spoken in all that time. (Yeah, it’s a little complicated :-))
But since they’ve known each other so long and so well, we thought it would be fun to sign them up to play a little game to test that knowledge. 🙂 And since this is all fiction anyway, we decided that it would be fun to have Bob Eubanks, the well-known host of the popular TV show the Newlywed Game, ask the questions! 🙂
Even better, no matter how Kevin does on the questions, YOU all have a chance to be the winner! Anyone who comments or posts their favorite newlywed-game-type-question gets entered to win a copy of the book (any e-format)!
So, Bob asked Kevin five questions about Eve and then got the “real” answers. Here’s how he did.
Bob: Hi, Kevin, welcome to our mini Newlywed Game.
Kevin: Hi, Bob. Wow, it’s great to meet you. I love watching re-runs of that show.
Bob: Then let’s start with a classic question from the original TV show: Kevin, fill in the blanks When Eve wakes up in the morning she’s likely to find my __ on her __ .
Kevin: chuckles When Eve wakes up in the morning she’s likely to find my hand on her butt.
Bob: grins Good for you. Okay, question two: In the afterglow, who is most likely to fall asleep first?
Kevin: without hesitation Me. Definitely me. Every time.
Bob: laughing Next question, what is the one irritating trait that you wish you can change about Eve?
Kevin: groans Do I really have to answer that?
Bob: Sorry.
Kevin: Okay, I really wish she’d stop trying to make pies. And meatloaf. And lasagna. Or just trying to cook in general. She’s convinced if she keeps trying, she’ll get it right. She’s good at a lot of things, just not that.
Bob: gives him wink Be sure to concentrate on all those other things she’s good at. Question four: And try to keep it PG-13… where is the “sweet spot” on Eve?”
Kevin: eyes wide with a little smile Anywhere I touch her.
Bob: laughing And finally, question five: What is the cutest thing Eve does without realizing it?
Kevin: thinks about it for a bit That’s hard. There are a lot of things. But I guess the best is that she texts my little brother these random messages all the time about silly things just to make him laugh. I don’t think she realizes how much that means to him… or to me.
Bob: Okay, Eve, come on back out.
Eve settles onto the loveseat next to Kevin and links her fingers with his.
Bob: Eve you ready?
Eve: You bet.
Bob: Okay, on Question one Kevin had to fill in these blanks: When Eve wakes up in the morning she’s likely to find my __ on her __ . What did he say?
Eve: laughing In the morning I’m likely to find his hand on my butt.
Bob: Kevin, what did you say.
He holds up the sign.
Bob: His hand on your butt. You got it! That’s five points. Good job. Okay, on to question two: In the afterglow, who is most likely to fall asleep first?
Eve: without hesitation Him. Definitely. Every time.
Kevin high-fives her
Bob: Well, Kev, not sure that’s worth a high five—staying awake might be worth it, you know? But you do have ten points! Here’s question three: What is the one irritating trait that you wish you can change about Eve?
Eve: rolls her eyes Probably girl’s night out.
Kevin: shakes his head Don’t tell her what I really said.
Eve: looks at him in surprise Why? What did you say?
Kevin: I don’t mind girl’s night out. Usually. It gets a little wild when you, Sara, Dani, Morgan and Monica are all there, but that’s okay.
Eve: crosses her arms You said my attempts at cooking, didn’t you?
Kevin: pulls her close and kisses the top her head I love you.
Eve: sighs I know. At least the pork chops last week weren’t so bad.
Kevin catches Bob’s eye and gives him a little shake of his head, but then just kisses Eve again
Bob: chuckling Okay, question four, Eve. How did Kevin answer this question: where is the “sweet spot” on Eve?
Eve: glances at Kevin quickly and notes the grin on his face. Her grin matches. Anywhere he touches me.
Bob: And you’ve got 15 points! Final question. What did Kevin say is the cutest thing you do without realizing it?
Eve: frowns, thinking Um, I snort when I laugh.
Kevin: hugs her again, chuckling That’s one of them, babe. But the cutest is when you text Drew those funny little messages just to let him know you’re thinking of him.
Eve: clearly surprised I didn’t even know you knew about that.
Kevin: He told me. He loves those messages.
Eve: seems pleased and touched I’m glad.
Bob: And I’m glad to tell you that you got three out of five, for fifteen points! Cleary you both know each other very well and have a great relationship.
Unfortunately now we’re out of time for today. Thanks everyone for joining us! Don’t forget to add a comment or one of your favorite Newlywed Game questions below for a chance to win a copy of Kevin and Eve’s book, Just A Kiss! We’ll see you next time!
Just a Kiss by Erin Nicholas
Book #5 in the Bradfords series
She’s unforgettable…and that’s exactly what got him into trouble the first time.
As a paramedic in the busiest ER in the city, Kevin Campbell knows there’s no such thing as a typical night—but this one definitely has them all beat.
His dad’s been stabbed with a fork, his mom’s been in a fight, and it’s all because of a younger half-brother he never knew existed. And if that’s not enough, everyone seems to agree that Kevin should take the boy in for the six months during his mom’s rehab. Oh, and the annulment he thought he got fourteen years ago? Never went through.
It’s really too bad he gave up drinking and swearing.
Eve Donnelly is shocked to see Kevin again, but not surprised they’re still married. After all, she was the one who refused to sign the annulment papers. Now that she’s got Kevin back in her life, nothing else matters. Not even her past fourteen less-than-virtuous years. In fact, the truth about her life without Kevin isn’t even worth bringing up. She hopes.
When Eve offers to help Kevin with his younger brother, a sweet, devout preacher’s daughter seems like an answered prayer. Besides, things can’t get more complicated. Can they?
Product Warnings: Contains a bad boy gone good, a good girl who knows all about being bad, and lots of hot, sweet, so-this-is-how-married-couples-do-it sex.
Erin Nicholas has been reading and writing romantic fiction since her mother gave her a romance novel in high school and she discovered happily-ever-after suddenly went a little beyond glass slippers and fairy godmothers! She lives in the Midwest with her husband who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books, her kids who will never read the sex scenes in her books, and family and friends who say they’re shocked by the sex scenes in her books (yeah, right!).

Absolutely loved the post!! I am so adding this to my TBR list right now. My question is: How did you come up with the idea for this story? Thanks!!
Loved the newlywed game.
Here’s my newlywed question – What’s the one irritating trait Eve wishes she could change about Kevin?
Lol, this was fun. I’ve never seen a show like that I think. My question to Eve: if he dislikes your attempt to cook, will he do all the cooking in your future together?
Hi, everyone! Thank for stopping by to meet Kevin and Eve 🙂
To answer some questions:
Michele, the idea for the story was interesting. This is the 5th book in the series, so I’ve had the chance to hang out with Kevin quite a bit. I know this guy really well and I knew I had to be true to who he is. It was tough finding the right woman, but once I “met” Eve, I knew she was perfect for him. There were only so many women who could fit into Kevin’s life! 🙂
Janna, I’m sure the Eve sometimes wishes Kevin could learn to say no once in awhile. He’s the guy everyone leans on. But she loves that about him too! 🙂
Aurian, lol! Yes, I think he’ll cook… or take her out a lot 🙂 Eve owns a restaurant and her best friend is the chef. He’ll probably sweet talk Monica into cooking a lot!

I can’t wait to read it! I’m about to start this series, but was wondering if they have to be read in order?
This was so sweet. It’s going to be a great series to read.
Hi, Yadira and Mary! So glad you’re going to get to know the Bradford bunch 🙂 Yadira, they are stand alone stories… in that you don’t have to read them in order to understand each couple’s story, but I’ve heard from a lot of readers that it’s more fun to read in order so you can get to know the characters better as you go 🙂 Either way, thanks for reading!

Loved the game. I enjoyed it back when it was on. My husband and I still laugh about some of the answers that were given. I am looking forward to reading this book!
This sounds like great reads! I don’t know what questions to ask about the couple though. I am putting these on my TBR list!~
Erin, I’ve read a couple of your books before and have loved them all – this one looks like it will be great too! Adding it to my TBR list now! Thanks for a fun interview!
