Kiss of the Betrayer (Bringer and the Bane #2) by Boone Brux
Genre: paranormal romance
Release date: December 11, 2012 by Entangled Select
Description:
For fifteen years Luc Le Daun has blamed himself for the death of the woman he loved. His secret guilt has led him into a life of danger, risking all and committing to none.
Killing Luc Le Daun has been all Jade Kendell has thought about for years. But when her plan goes awry and she’s brought into the Bringers’ fold, her own dark secret threatens to be revealed. Desire for a better life wars with a promise made long before she understood the ramifications.
In a deadly mission, Jade and Luc embark on a journey into the Shadow World. As they attempt the impossible, ignoring the attraction growing between them becomes harder to deny. The slightest misstep could mean the loss of their souls and give the Demon King exactly what he needs to open the Abyss of Souls and annihilate the Bringers.

Hussshhhhh… you hear that??? That’s the sound of your wallet taking a big breath of relief. This week’s list of new releases, while still not exhaustive (when will it ever be???), is much shorter than most times of year. I can only imagine is has a lot to do with the fact that Christmas is close enough upon us that many of us have turned from purchases for self to purchases for others. (Although, I suppose the converse to that is that many people are getting bookish gifts for others. Well, there goes that theory.)
Still, we’ve got a neat little assortment of titles from various genres. The Lady of Secrets and Falling Kingdoms bring the historical stylings, while 2012: The Rising brings the sci fi flavoring (and being it’s about the 12/21/12 “Last Day” mythos, it’s a well-timed release. It’s one to read quickly, just in case). Paranormal romance is represented by Kiss of the Betrayer and The Silverwings Sorceress, and Holidays at Crescent Cove is about….well, what do you think? 🙂 So if you’re searching for new blood, there could still be enough variety to satisfy.

Have the urge to make a quick book buy for yourself? Or is it gift-getting only this week? Do you like when someone gets you a book as a present–or do you prefer the giftcard that lets you make your own pick? ^_^
Well that depends on whether the person buying the book for me has spent any amount of time talking to me about books. If they have, they don’t screw it all up.
If they haven’t? Well then they buy me the last Harry Potter book (which I didn’t even read) or some Twilight-esque paranormal romance (Yes, I am looking at you Cassandra Clare. Snore.).
i hear ya! i know that for you, a dragon-heavy book will be the way to go. pay attention, gift givers! ah well… in the end, people should never underestimate the fabulousness of a gift card to a bookstore.
A sigh of relief, nothing on your list is tempting me, and nothing has been ordered. I do remember a great series by Susan Carroll, but that was historical romance with lovely paranormal stuff.
perhaps for the best. now we’re in that time of year where any monies go toward gift buying… 🙂
I do want a few of those 😀 Ok make it all of them 😉
manageable enough list this week to do so… yay!
It’s hard to focus on the list because I’m just mesmerized by the Brux cover. Looks like he’s getting ready to scratch his back with that razor-sharp blade. Ouch. Call the paramedics ASAP.
LMAO!!! Puts it into a whole new light. Ow….
