Well, now. It may be X-Mas for many around the world on December 25, but in the publishing world, it’s another Tuesday. Just because this day coincides with a major holiday, it clearly doesn’t mean one should ignore what’s new out there! ^_^ (In fact, it might be perfect considering any newly-acquired gift card stash you might have received.) There’s a solid range of genre fiction here, including a mix of old series, brand new series, and standalone titles.
To indulge your romantic sweet tooth, The Chocolate Kiss is a good choice, a tale about sweet treats, love, and Paris. Or you can check out the newly released English-translation of popular book The Ingredients of Love…a tale about sweet treats, love, and…Paris. (Wait a tic… those two premises sound quite a bit alike. Oh, well. More the merrier!) Or if you have something against Paris (and why would you?!), you can check out Vanity Fare, a tale about sweet treats, love, and…other things.
If a happier tale isn’t what you’re in the mood for…and if you’d rather grab a dose of reality-bites… then All She Ever Wanted sounds like an intense and realistic contemporary mystery (slash women’s lit?), centered around a woman with post-partum depression whose baby is kidnapped. (Eek!)
And if you just want a nice little taste of a read, something to occupy your mind while you await holiday dinner, you might try the new series opener from Sierra Dean, A Low Down Dirty Shane, (author of the Secret McQueen series) or perhaps the novella Annabel from YA author Lauren Oliver (of Delirium fame).
Whatver the case may be, I hope you get some time in for reading this week. And if you celebrate today’s holiday….MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
. . .
Ready to spend some (holiday) funds on a new release this week? Do you celebrate X-Mas? What do you usually do for the occasion?
I am gonna go and have a look at one of those books
Something interesting there!!!
Hmm… I might give Last Kiss Goodnight a chance.
And we celebrate Christmas with lots of yummy food. No presents, because those we give on December 5th (St. Nicholas Eve)
O yes, certainly books I want on this list 🙂 Sierra Dean!
