We’ve had many great discussions in our virtual classroom here over the past little while, so I thought it was time to recap all of our topics before the final exam….okay, just kidding, there’s no test! But, in case you missed any, here’s what we’ve talked about to date:
Fantasy
Horror
Punk
Dystopian and Apocalyptic Fiction
Science Fiction
Occupational Fiction
Historical Fiction
Erotic Fiction
Humour
Women’s Fiction
Religious Fiction
Weird Names for Genres
Western Fiction
Mystery
Philosophical Fiction
Literary Fiction
Adventure Novels
Wow! We really have covered lots of ground. Of course, within each link, there are sub-genres too. With so many more books being published, in whatever form (hard copy or ebook), there are many more crossovers happening to. Is this a complete list of genres? Considering the crossover idea, probably not. What I ask today is: have we missed anything really big, that doesn’t fit neatly into one of these categories? Do you, our lovely readers, have any types of books that you’d like to see talked about? If not, then all that’s left is our certificate of completion 😉
I completely missed weird names for genres, must go back and read it cos it sounds fun
I think zombies should get their own genre so zombie books are easier to find. Zombiepunk or Urban Zombies or something like that 😉
@Blodeuedd – It was fun, with a link to lots of other strange ones.
@Sullivan McPig – Yes! Zombies and Robots, lol. Thanks 🙂
Thank you Jackie it was most informative, and so much fun 🙂
Well I'd like to see more clearly about the different time periods in historical fiction (what does Edwardian, Regency, etc. exactly stand for), but I guess I'll have to look that up myself 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
