Today we are very thrilled to welcome back to BLI author Katie Porter (aka Carrie Lofty and Lorelie Brown!) in celebration of her newest release in the Club Devant series, Chains and Canes! I was lucky enough to having read in advance the duo’s newest release and let me reveal a small secret to you all: Chains and Canes is another hot story written in a way only Katie Porter can! So, let’s welcome Katie and don’t forget to check at the end of the post for the giveaway details 🙂
It’s so hard to believe it’s July already. My kids have been out of school since the last week of May. Since then, I took them to the beach for a week, finished a book, took them to visit their dad cross-country, edited a different book, went back home and packed up all our belongings and moved us to Wisconsin.
Pretty busy. Almost overwhelmingly so. I miss lazy days of summer, when you were a kid and summer seemed to stretch on and on and you were always waiting for your mom to finish whatever it was she was doing so you could go somewhere. The most dramatically summer like place I’ve been this year is Great America. I had a blast, but I also discovered that four rollercoasters seems to be my limit before I start getting sick. After that, I held the bags and sipped slushy. Not a horrible gig, but not exactly the uninhibited rush of childhood either.
It’s a good thing I write books, I think. I get all the highs of a dramatic, exciting life, without actually having to live with the consequences.
Wait. The consequences for Naya, the heroine of Chains and Canes, is living happily ever after with her fiancé and her dominant. Maybe that’s not so bad. 😉
On the other hand, she’s also a dancer in New York. That’s physically hard and mentally stressful. Naya is lucky she has Daniel, her fiancé. He’s a businessman and they live a very good life in a penthouse apartment. There’s only one problem. Naya is a submissive and a masochist, but Daniel adores his angel so much that he can’t really bring himself to hurt her the way he wants. They’ve solved this by occasionally arranging for sessions with paid, female dominants.
And then they meet Remy. Cajun bad boy with a Mohawk. Choreographer. His chemistry with Naya is explosive…and more unexpectedly, so is his chemistry with Daniel. Since Chains and Canes is out today, I’m going to give y’all an exclusive excerpt!
Remy pushed everything away with each stroke of knuckles over skin. “She manages it well enough. Eagerly, even.” His dark blue gaze held on and wouldn’t let go. “She calls me Sir. I want that from you by the end of the night.”
Naya gasped quietly. She covered her mouth with both hands, her eyes wide.
“I’ve waited three days to see more than a few teasing glances of the pretty marks I laid on your girl,” Remy said. “But I hadn’t realized I was waiting for something else. Normally I’m more honest with myself. I’ve had to be.” Wry sadness knitted his brows and flattened his mouth—more of the pain he couldn’t completely conceal. He leaned in and lightly brushed his lips over Daniel’s. “You took me by surprise.”
Being praised so openly pulsed warmth behind Daniel’s sternum. He could breathe easier. He sucked in freeing gulps of air, which held the added bonus of Remy’s scent. Clean, sharp, intoxicating.
“Thank you.”
“See?” Remy grinned, his mischief intact despite the intensity of their gathering hunger. “That was a perfect opportunity. ‘Thank you, Sir.’ I thought you were sharper than that, boy. To have missed something so simple. You wanted to say it, didn’t you?”
Daniel nodded rather than risk being called out again.
“Good enough. For now.” Another taunting slip of a kiss. “But…now you know what will make me happy tonight.”
Naya moaned low in her throat.
Remy glanced at her with an indulgent smile. “Down you go, sweeting. You know where you belong.”
Personally, I think that’s enough excitement for me. Maybe the next time I want a little Summer oomph, I’ll just go read a little bit of one of my Katie Porter books.
And then ride a roller coaster too. Because there’s no such thing as too much. 😉
About Chains and Canes:
A Dom double-teamed by two submissives? He doesn’t stand a chance.
Wealthy businessman Daniel Baker doesn’t have a creative bone in his body, but he knows art and craves beauty. Contemporary dancer Naya Ortiz, his fiancée of three years, embodies both. His protective commitment to her happiness extends to hiring Dominas to satisfy the sexual masochism she craves.
The balance of their relationship is tipped when Naya dances with reckless Cajun choreographer Remy Lomand. His magnetism as a Dom carries over to a backstage encounter that leaves Naya breathless—and Daniel unable to look away.
Remy knows the deal. The fancy people want to play with a disposable boy toy. He’s fine with that…but not with letting Daniel remain a bystander. As their sessions intensify, Remy guides Daniel’s awakening as a sexual submissive. Their no-strings threesome reveals the physical connection Daniel and Naya have lacked—and the emotional depth Remy fears.
When Remy and Naya tirelessly work to found a professional dance company, Daniel is left on the outside looking in. And although he and Naya are ready to submit to Remy for the rest of their lives, the man they call Sir may not want their love at all.
Warning: A sexy-as-hell Cajun choreographer plays slap, tickle, chains and canes with a muy caliente Puerto Rican dancer and her repressed businessman fiancé. What could possibly go wrong?

About Katie Porter:
Katie Porter is the award-winning writing team of longtime friends Lorelie Brown and Carrie Lofty. Both are multi-published in several romance genres. Carrie holds an MA in history, loves movies, and has no fear of gross things like dissecting formaldehyde sharks. Her two daughters aren’t appreciative. Lorelie is a US Army veteran and true-crime devotee, whose three boys love when she screams like a little girl around spiders. Now, after years of wishing and planning, they finally share an office in the Chicago area.
All four of Katie Porter’s “Vegas Top Guns” contemporary erotic romances have received 4½ Star Top Picks from RT BookReviews. These books are “impressive and incredibly well done,” and will “move Fifty Shades of Grey to the children’s section.” The third title, HOLD ‘EM, won the 2012 RT Reviewers’ Choice award for Best Ebook Erotic Romance, and the m/m Christmas-themed CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR was nominated for Best Book of the Year.
In January, LEAD AND FOLLOW launched a sexy five-part series set in a glitzy New York City burlesque club, described by Publishers Weekly as “deftly leaving readers with the welcome message that life can hand out happy surprises.” Its sequel, CHAINS AND CANES, was deemed by RT as “racy and absolutely flawless!” and also received a 4½ Star TOP PICK.
Up next as back-to-back releases in 2014 are the first three installments of “The Boston Boys”—an adventurous, La Femme Nikita-inspired series of military erotic romances.

I don’t know what it is about getting older and roller coasters, I can’t seem to keep up with my kids either. Thanks for the excerpt, now I need to read more!
This is going straight onto my TBR list right now after reading that excerpt. Wow!! H-O-T! Thanks for the giveaway & best of luck on your new release.
The books sound great.
I can no longer ride roller coaster. It’s very sad. I used to love them when I was young.
Congrats ladies on the newest release! Sounds fantastic 🙂 I totally agree… I miss those lazy summers that seemed to last forever. Now they speed on so fast, I feel like I can’t keep up.
I just have to look at a roller coaster and I am ill.
I’m looking forward to reading more thank you.
I would love to ride a roller coaster but only one of my children will ride them the other cries at the sight of them. I’m hoping she will get some courage soon.
I always shy away from roller coasters! The book sounds great, though…
