Blurb:

He’s exactly what she’s always wanted. And she unleases him like a force of nature…

Lucy was once the beloved Goddess of the Moon, and she could have any man she wanted. But these days, the goddesses of the Etruscan pantheon are all but forgotten. The only rituals she enjoys now are the local hockey games, whereone ferociously handsome player still inflames her divine blood…

Brandon Stevenson is one hundred percent focused on the game, until he looks up and sees a celestial beauty sitting in the third row. A man could surely fall hard for a distraction like that…

My Thoughts:

Welcome back to the mysterious world Julian spun around the Etruscan mythology. The hunt of our Forgotten Goddesses goes on and Lusna, Goddess of the Moon, is next on Charun’s list. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Before all of that starts, Lucy is trying to live an ordinary life. She has her bar and her two sons around. She likes the life she has. She enjoys spending her time at hockey games admiring a certain player- well it’s a peaceful life but she likes it that way.

Brandon is a Hockey player- rough edges and hot temper included. He knows what he wants even when he shouldn’t be able too. He’s a fighter, determined and focused on his goals. He’s hot blooded and knows what to do with his hands. *fans herself* He’s practically made for the goddess of the wolves. He’s wild and knows how to let go. He really made me swoon.

When these both meet the air ignites. They burn so hot it’s hard to resist but still Lucy tries. Her unstaggering denial of her feelings irked me a bit. At times I wished she would get over it and just go on. I would have loved to see more of Brand’s thoughts and feelings though- he is a very intriguing character.

The plot moved a bit slow at first. The first few chapters were more focused on the emotional and sexual build up but after that it really picked up speed. I read most of Julian’s novels so I do know who is who. Many characters of her Lucani Lovers series appear in How to Worship a Goddess. But don’t worry if you haven’t read them. The introductions are easy to follow so even Julian newbies should be able to follow everything.

Julian knows how to keep you glued to the pages. Her characters are vivid and their humor always succeeds in making me smile. She creates a balance between erotic sex scenes and breathtaking action- you won’t be able to stay look away.

I give How to Worship a Goddess 4 stars!

I haven’t actually read anything by this author yet, but this one sounds scorching! Plus, Etruscan mythology! I honestly don’t know any authors to look to the peoples pre-dating the Greeks and Romans for world building inspiration. Definitely think I’m gonna have to check this one out.

    Smiles!
    Lori
