Boor Blurb:
When Marrin Levy sends away for a field-husband to help her on her homestead, the most she hopes for is a man who can help her survive on the harsh desert planet of Lujawed. Keane Dealcore’s heart is as strong as his back, and he brings Marrin more than just his help in the fields. He brings her the love she thought she’d never feel again…
My Thoughts:
Perhaps I shouldn’t start writing this review before my tears are dried but I just can’t help myself. Amidst a Crowd of Stars is probably the best short story I have ever read. It caught my heart on the first page and didn’t let me go until I read the last word. I knew from page one that it would make me cry but Megan Hart knows how to still make you feel good even though you cry at the end.
The story of Amidst a Crowd of Stars is told in reverse. We start at nearly the end and go backwards in time following Marrin’s and Keane’s life. It sounds confusing when I say it this way but surprisingly it made me feel so much more for this couple. I knew what would happen and it was like immediately bonding with the characters for me. With every step we took back in time my heart ached more for them. These two share a love so deep it’s wonderful to read about. I really wish everyone would find a love like this. To find your soulmate, who does everything you need him to do and more, someone who knows what you crave even before you do know so yourself. I think soulmates is the perfect word to describe these two- they are perfect together and are each other’s comfort. Keane is now the number one of my book boyfriends and I can hardly imagine that someone will ever take this place away from him.
Ms. Hart’s writing is perfection- she draws you in, sets a wonderful pace for this heartbreaking tale and never gives you time to separate yourself emotionally from this novel. I loved that this book wasn’t divided in chapters but in periods of Marrin’s and Keane’s life. You learn everything you need to know on the journey backwards in time and it was like every tidbit is dropped at the exact perfect moment.
Amidst a Crowd of Stars is a highly erotic but even more romantic story. These sex-scenes aren’t only hot they are heartbreakingly beautiful. They mirror how deeply these two feel for each other- it seems to be the perfect love. The end was so sad- yes, I couldn’t stop the tears but it was also a good way to end it. Perhaps it’s even the only way to end it even though we wish it to be different. *sobs* I really needed to talk about it after i read the last sentence and BF already had to suffer me retelling the whole book.
Amidst a Crowd of Stars is a perfect read, full of emotion and wonderful writing. Her characters will draw you in and you won’t be able to not love them. I just can’t stop thinking about this story.
Highly recommended to all Romance lovers!
I give Amidst a Crowd of Stars 5 out of 5 bookies.
