The Duke’s Perfect Wife (Highland Pleasures, #4) by Jennifer Ashley
Lady Eleanor Ramsay is the only one who knows the truth about Hart Mackenzie. Once his fiancee, she is the sole woman to whom he could ever pour out his heart.
Hart has it all–a dukedom, wealth, power, influence, whatever he desires. Every woman wants him–his seductive skills are legendary. But Hart has sacrificed much to keep his brothers safe, first from their brutal father, and then from the world. He’s also suffered loss–his wife, his infant son, and the woman he loved with all his heart though he realized it too late.
Now, Eleanor has reappeared on Hart’s doorstep, with scandalous nude photographs of Hart taken long ago. Intrigued by the challenge in her blue eyes–and aroused by her charming, no-nonsense determination–Hart wonders if his young love has come to ruin him . . . or save him.

Another robust week of releases. Unsurprisingly, there are a few long-awaited titles in the mix, ones that are sure to have already been pre-ordered by many. As for me, I’ve got my eyes squarely set on the latest Jennifer Ashley title, The Duke’s Perfect Wife. Some brand new titles that stand out are The Wedding Beat by Devan Sipher–male protagonist, a rarity in “chick lit”–and So You Created a Wormhole by Phil Hornshaw and Nick Hurwitch. Always needed a guide to the crazy world of time traveling, right?
How about you? Anything you’ve had your eye on for a while? A pre-ordered title or two? In fact, do you ever pre-order your most-anticipated books?
Oooh so many amazing titles which get released this week, my TBR pile and bank account will kill me…
ps. everyone I just saw that The Hunter by Theresa Meyers (the 1st book before The Slayer) is FREE on Amazon right now!!
Just DLed. Thank you for the heads up Stella!!!
I can’t wait to read About That Night and Alien Diplomacy! And as everyone keeps praising Grave Mercy I’m excited and curious about that one as well.
I just read The Perfect Impostor which was a very nice read, I enjoyed it 🙂
And once again I want The Slayer and Werewolf in Seattle because of their beautiful covers 😀
Can’t wait for your review of The Perfect Imposter! I’ve heard great things about this author.
For me the new Jennifer Ashley and Gini Koch have been pre-ordered a long time ago. And I am not going to look to closely to all those other great covers you posted, my TBR is already overflowing.
Definitely a safe bet. The next couple weeks will be relatively quiet, too. Thank goodness. Sometimes it’s like a battle with the TBR pile. ^_^
I always pre-order my books, they are cheaper that way, and I get nice surprises when the mailperson delivers a book 🙂
Ah yes, it’s like finding a $20 bill in a forgotten pocket. ^__^
I don’t have anything in this batch pre-ordered but it reminds me that I have to catch up on Devon Monk’s Allie Beckstrom series and give Sharon Shinn’s awesome-looking books a try.
Man. I really need to get on those Allie Beckstrom books. How far into the series are you now? What’s you impression of the quality across books…gets better, stays same, or declines?
Everyone’s been telling me how good these books are so I went ahead and got all of them (including the latest). I’m almost thru with #2 and have to say that I’m a bit underwhelmed so far. It took me almost 3 days to finish the 1st book and I’m generally a fast reader–I read all of Seanan McGuire’s Toby Daye books currently out in less time than this one book. I’ll labor on (and it does feel like hard labor) since I’m committed and can’t stand to not finish things, but I really hope they pick up. You might want to read some samples before you jump in. (Sorry to all the hard-core Monk fans!)
Thanks for the heads up, Susan! So many of the UF series do have rough starts….with the first book or two kind of floundering before the author (and the powers that be) really get a handle on the voice and direction of the series. I hope the reading gets better for you.
You mentioned Seanan McGuire…have you checked out her new series yet? Been hearing such awesome things about it (and will be reviewing it here at BLI in a couple weeks, even).
I’ll try to maintain hope that the series gets better, but I’ve read some reviews for the upcoming books and I’m not optimistic. One of my main beefs so far is that I just don’t like Allie and she continually does monumentally stupid things. She has memory lapses, which accounts for some of it, but the rest is just TSTL behavior. Plus, she’s supposed be Ms. Tough Stuff but she spends most of her time passing out or needing someone else to rescue her. It doesn’t sound like there’s much change in the future books with that. Ugh.
I have McGuire’s Discount Armageddon in my TBR pile, so I’m really interested in your upcoming review. I also have the two zombie books under her Mira Grant pseudonym (with the 3rd on pre-order). Looking forward to all of them, as well as the rest of the Toby Daye series!
There was nothing on this week’s list I was eagerly awaiting but there look to be some interesting covers I will look at more closely!
I always pre order JR Ward and Shelly Laurenston new releases , they are must haves.
Sometimes it’s fun to just peruse covers. They’re quite awesome on their own merit. It’s like window shopping! ^_^
I have been waiting for Hart’s book.
Hunter’s Rise, I will miss the Hunter series and Beneath the Skin, De La Vega are the ones I have and will get.
TWO Paul Marron covers! I can’t wait!
