Book Blurb:
DEA Agent Kendall Frasier doesn’t want to see the man who shot and killed her partner. Zane Vincent wants to forget about the bust gone bad and the man he killed. When both officers arrive at the same tropical island for a department-regulated vacation, more heats up than just the sand and sun. Will they let their past prejudices keep them from giving in to their mutual attraction, or will Zane and Kendall both succumb to a little Friendly Fire?
My Thoughts:
The story itself sounds depressing and when I just look at it I would think “how convenient” and just shake my head. But while reading this story I was enthralled by the characters and their inner struggles. It always amazes me how much emotion can be found in one of Hart’s novels. She has a way to make her characters so complex and 3 dimensional even in such a short format.
Friendly Fire is a romantic and very emotional story but we also find some rather funny moments in it. It has exactly the humor I like, popculture innuendos that make me smile and all in all a very varied cast of sidecharacters. All in a bit over 50 pages.
And let’s not forget the romantic aspect. Kendall and Zane have a hard and rocky road before they finally get to each other but believe me it was worth every second. There was one scene that made me all goey inside and always made me giggle- I really loved it.
Friendly Fire is funny, sexy and very emotional. It will show you about how deep and thoughtful a short story can be. Another keeper by Ms Hart- we all have to thank Carina Press for re-releasing this one. Highly recommended read for the short entertainment- it will leave you smiling and happy.
I give Friendly Fire 4 out of 5 bookies.

@ChrisS You won't regret it. It's great!
Sounds good!
The cover alone leaves me smiling and happy. 😉
@Estella Indeed =
@heidenkind Me too, so happy it finally got a nice cover. The old Amber Quill was really really bad.
I do have a concern over short stories. Am I just going to get involved for it to finish??

@marybelle I'm usually really not so fond of them either but I really enjoyed this one. And the end was really nice. I didn't regret reading it. Perhaps you should give it a chance. It's way more satisfying than I usually expect of a short. =)
Huh. Wow. I've never tried this author, but I think I will!
@Chelsea B. Ohhhh you have to read one of books. She's my biggest author crush and I adore her books. Hope you will like it!
