Book Blurb:

All I see are murky depths that could swallow me whole.

Mom knew that the mermaids – hand carved from driftwood by the owner of a souvenir shop – were all I wanted to take home from Florida. As she bought them, she looked down at me, her eyes not just glittering but snapping with fire like two Fourth of July sparklers. She ran her finger down the length of my nose, almost like you’d stroke a favourite pet, and said to the salesman, “We’re just alike, me and Aura.”

And you know, back then, the …

Young Adult: The Simpler Side of Life?

Sometimes I think people would say that I whinge more about YA than I read it, but that isn’t true. YA is like a friend or relative I turn to when everything gets too much. YA provides a simpler outlook on life devoid of adult issues and ways.

I have often said that it would be nice to be a kid again, when times were simpler. All one had to worry about was our friends, our homework and what movie we really wanted to see when our mum’s would let us go. Our biggest issue in life was a boy/girl not liking us or one of our friends giving us the silent treatment. Compared to what I have to deal with as an adult…that seems like heaven.

Yet young adults in general are so eager to grow up so it is …

Book Blurb:

Hi, I’m Muriel, misbegotten daughter of Satan, and once again my life is in turmoil. The cowled one who tortured me left a curse on my mind, one that makes me afraid. Completely unacceptable, but in order to remove it, I have to do something even worse—betray my beloved by bringing another man into our bed.

As if having to participate in a threesome isn’t traumatizing enough, Hell has frozen over, and as much as I think Hades looks pretty in a blanket of white, the repercussions are severe. It’s a good thing this princess of Hell has two lovers …

Review: Elizabeth’s Wolf by Lora Leigh

Format Read: PaperbackNumber of Pages:304Release Date: 30 June 2005Publisher: Ellora’s CaveFormats Available: Paperback, EbookPurchasing Info: Author’s Website, Goodreads, Amazon

Book Blurb:

Dash thought himself alone, a soldier, a fighting machine and no more.

Elizabeth made him realise he was a man.

Danger surrounds the woman his soul marked as his mate, death and blood and treachery that go beyond even his worst nightmares. But he will protect her and what she claims as her own. He was created to kill, trained to do it efficiently, and only a man bound to her, heart and soul, will have the strength to save Elizabeth and her prized possession.

My Thoughts:

You don’t really read Breeds books for their riveting plots, but for me Elizabeth’s Wolf was just too far-fetched in how she brought the pair together.

Dash is a soldier, a …

Paranormal Romance: Predictable or Secure?

I absolutely love reading Paranormal Romance, it is up on my list of favourite genres, what keeps it from being my favourite?

Well there isn’t enough action in it for my tastes which is why I sway more towards Urban Fantasy and to be perfectly honest, Paranormal Romance books can get a tad boring after a while for me.

Personally, I try to change it up, some vampires, werewolves and even a couple of demons now and then or sometimes ghosts but I can only read so many before I begin to think “Vampire Bob meets Plain Jane one night in a bar, some sex, a fight, they get together, she gets turned into something immortal, and Bob’s your uncle.” – Well I suppose in this case, you’d really hope Bob isn’t your …

All YA Love: My Favourite Series

Hey everyone! It’s YA time again. This week I will tell you my Top 3 favorite  YA series of all time… toughy, but also easy in a way. I will count this one down so that we can save the best for last ;P.

3rd Place: A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket.

Whoever has read the entire series of unfortunate events (against the author’s repeated warnings) either ended up very sad, very content, or very confused. Based around the adventures of Violet, Klaus and Sunny in their constant struggle to defeat Count Olaf an evil man after their fortune. When I was a kid I actually looked up to see if the Baudelairs were real…that’s how much I loved them. But I never figured out what the question mark on the radar was …
