A RUTHLESS KILLER—OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND

I used to work for the Telepath’s Guild before they kicked me out for a drug habit that wasn’t entirely my fault. Now I work for the cops, helping Homicide Detective Isabella Cherabino put killers behind bars. My ability to get inside the twisted minds of suspects makes me the best interrogator in the department. But the normals keep me on a short leash. When the Tech Wars ripped the world apart, the Guild stepped up to save it. But they had to get scary to do it—real scary. Now the cops don’t trust the telepaths, …

Javier Rivera would never hurt a woman much less kill one. Until the merger is signed, he’ll keep her close, even if he has to shackle her to his wrist. Literally.

But the closer Javier gets to Vivian, the more he wants …

Romance and Me: Historical Romances – The Foreign Edition

Hey Everyone!

We have discussed different aspects of historical romances: our favourite eras, what we like the most about this genre, why we read HR novels, we have even discussed gladiators, HR pet peeves and erotic historical romances but there is something we haven’t talked about yet, and that is foreign or exotic historical romances.

About 99% of historical romance novels are set in England, in smaller part France or Scotland, a couple are even set in North America (and one or two in Ancient Egypt), but historical romances set outside of these usual locations are few and far and between. Can you think of any which take place in South America? Africa? Asia? Australia? Oceania? Or we don’t even have to go that far, any historical romances set in other European countries …

My husband and I are trying (desperately) to buy a 1900 Victorian home just off the square in a neighboring town. I don’t think the deal will go through, unfortunately, but I’m hopeful that it will. I’m hopeful that in a few short months, we’ll be patching up walls and cleaning hundred year old floors and sleeping in a creaky house with double hung windows. When I walk in that house, I feel the history and …

Anna Scarlett: Elyse, what was your first impression of Nicoli?

ELYSE: You mean besides the one my cheek made on his chest when I crashed into him? *thinks for a second* I thought he was going to save me from Lt. Horan’s idiotic grasp. Nicoli knew I wasn’t really a cadet. But nooooo. He even let him punish me!

NICOLI: This is what I knew: You were acting as a cadet for your protection. I couldn’t figure out why the hell you would cause such a disturbance and …
