Today we have the pleasure to welcome an author we don’t have to present anymore…(but let’s anyway *wink*). Thank you Zoe Archer for visiting Book Lovers Inc once again *g*. Zoe’s new book, Stranger, was released this week. It is the 4th book in The Blades of the Rose series and the hero is my favorite character in the series, Catullus! Let’s give a warm welcome to Zoe, who will tell us more about a new kind of hero, the Pi. Stay tuned and you could win a copy of Stranger!
Nerd. Brainiac. Poindexter. Geek. We’ve all heard these names. Heck, many of us readers have been called those names.
I never understood why being smart is supposed to be bad, or embarrassing. Intelligence is good—it keeps us alive and aware. When it comes to brains versus beauty, I’d rather have brains (though I don’t always feel that way when …
If you ask anyone who has read the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead if they liked it, I would bet that you will end up with quite an impassioned and enthusiastic presentation on how much they LOVED it, what a fantastic series it is, how exciting and thrilling the story is and that they cannot wait to get the next book finally in their hands.
If you haven’t read this series you might wonder what all the fuss is about. It’s just another YA series about vampires and high school romance, right? Well no. The Vampire Academy series is so much more than that. And you want to know what sets it apart from the other YA vampire books and makes it so outstanding and exceptional? Well read on, I’m about to tell you.
1) For me it is the emotional depth and intensity that makes this series truly …

Salvation has its price.
The words stunned Adrian for a moment, but he kept going. “You’re lying. What you’re describing is impossible. There’s no way to save a Strigoi. When they’re gone, they’re gone. They’re dead. Undead. Forever.”
Robert’s next words weren’t directed at Adrian. They were spoken to me. “That which is dead doesn’t always stay dead….”

Hunger GamesBook 1By: Suzanne Collins
Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, “The Hunger Games.” The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. Randall Stone is the stuff of heroes, a mercenary given a discharge from the army he has served with his life. But the government is still interested in using the skills they’ve taught Major Rand Stone, and he continues to work with his hand-picked team. Into his shadowy world a light has come, and in her love, Stone discovers unhoped for joy, and, perhaps, unbearable sorrow?
My Thoughts:
I had high hopes with this novella because the summary and premise looked very similar to the books by Lisa Marie Rice and Shannon McKenna who write sexually intense romantic suspense. But after a few pages in with this novella, I …

Unrepentant Blood Suckers
I’ve noticed a trend in paranormal romance that I’m not sure I enjoy; the tendency to make vampires lament their state of being. To fight their natural instinct to drink human blood because they think it’s morally wrong. Just look at Stefan from Vampire Diaries. Up until recently in the show, he refused to partake of human blood even though it made him weak and unable to protect his love interest properly. Damon, his brother, on the other hand relishes the taste and doesn’t make any bones about it. Personally, I like Damon’s …

Dash thought himself alone, a soldier, a fighting machine and no more.
Elizabeth made him realise he was a man.
Danger surrounds the woman his soul marked as his mate, death and blood and treachery that go beyond even his worst nightmares. But he will protect her and what she claims as her own. He was created to kill, trained to do it efficiently, and only a man bound to her, heart and soul, will have the strength to save Elizabeth and her prized possession.
My Thoughts:
You don’t really read Breeds books for their riveting plots, but for me Elizabeth’s Wolf was just too far-fetched in how she brought the pair together.
Dash is a soldier, a …
