Hey Everyone!
Not only should you be surprised that I am doing a YA post now, but that I will be advocating YA novels! Yes, me, who was admitting everywhere, high and low that Twilight must have been the last YA novel I have read as I’m not a big fan of teenage literature. And guess what? Seems I was proven wrong! I know, sounds pretty shocking, so hear me out.
I don’t/didn’t like YA books because I was irritated by all the teenage drama, the constant whining and drama queen antics, that every little problem means the end of the world and the lack of maturity and intelligence in the characters not only frustrated, but angered me. But recently, despite my misgivings I have read a few YA novels and believe me, I was the most shocked to discover that I loved them!
So it seems my prejudiced days against YA novels are …

Victor left behind a life of crime to focus on a new vision–helping his alpha build an island sanctuary for werewolves. Harsh experiences prepared him for the hardships involved, except when it comes to dealing with the young female refugees of the brutal Boston pack–especially Simone, who rouses his inner wolf like no other. A woman he must resist, or risk becoming just the latest man to make demands on her.
Born to wealth and privilege, Simone lost everything when she fell for the seductive whispers of the textile heir who turned her. Once adrift, now she is fired by a new sense of purpose–the chance to broker peace between werewolves and European wizards. Yet even as Europe beckons, her instincts–the same ones that led to trouble before–keep drawing her back to Victor.
During a sailing …
This week, we travel back to the United States to visit Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Harrisburg is the capital city of the state and lies on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Other claims to fame for the city include it playing large roles in the American Civil War and the Industrial Revolution. It is also only 10 miles away from Hershey, Pennsylvania, home of the chocolate makers…..yum!
How does it relate to books? Well, it’s a frequent haunt for the characters in Megan Hart’s novels, which I’m sure alot of you are aware of. I wasn’t, until The Geeky Lover suggested it. Now, I’ve started reading Megan Hart’s Dirty in an attempt to get some background information 😉 I will admit being disappointed to discover that The Slaughtered Lamb is not an actual pub in Harrisburg, though I found one in NYC.

As a photographer I tend to look at things from a slightly different eye than most people – I don’t have my pricing set up like a “typical” studio, I don’t “make” clients pick certain photo’s, I do my best and THEY get to pick which photo’s they like best out of maybe 15-20 of the best shots…
The reason? What I would pick, is almost 100% NOT what the parent likes best…
One shining example I got just today…I worked with little beautiful little boy, and today his parents ordered the photo’s they wanted from our session – me, I would have picked this one as my favorite…
But his parents, they picked this one….
Now don’t get me wrong, the one above is great, I love it too BUT …
Last week the wonderful author Jennifer Rardin passed away. We, here at Book Lovers Inc, were devastated and still can’t believe it. Jennifer was a wonderful funny and witty author and an even better person.
She was one of nicest authors I ever contacted and she welcomed me with so much warmth.
Her Jaz Parks series is one of the funniest urban fantasy series out there and know one should miss to get to know this wonderful unique heroine. Believe me you will laugh so much and don’t be able to stop.
Here a bit more info about her books:
Once Bitten, Twice Shy – Jaz Parks #1
I’m Jaz Parks. My boss is Vayl, born in Romania in 1744. Died there too, at the hand of his vampire wife, Liliana. But that’s ancient history. …
