Reading and Knitting: When the two meet!
Hello! My name is Caroline and I’m a knitting Addict. Well, I’m also a book addict but that was a given *wink*. At first I thought these two passions would be two different things, I was either reading OR knitting. Oh but I know better now *g*. I won’t even talk about this great invention that is the Audiobook. Nope today I’m here to talk about books!
When I’m looking for pretty patterns to knit I often find patterns inspired by books I’ve read. And THAT, makes my geeky self happy. It started with the Jane Austen Knitting magazines. I’m fascinated with anything Jane Austen. I love that these magazines give you Austenian patterns with a modern touch.

Guest Post: An Out of this World Soundtrack + Giveaway
Music is an important part of the holidays! It’s also a very useful tool when telling stories. The right piece of music can be the perfect inspiration to make the words flow.
So here are the authors of the sci-fi romance holiday anthology, A GALACTIC HOLIDAY, talking about out-of-this-world music that helped inspire their out-of-this-world novellas.

Around the Bookish World: Week-In-Review
Welcome to this week’s news post – it has been a bit quiet on the publishing front, although there has been a slew of new book deals and announcements as well as some tidbit goodies from Patricia Briggs, Lauren Dane and Jenn Bennett.
First up, Amazon has announced their details for their annual breakthrough contest which for the first time does not involve Penguin which the winner of the previous awards have won a contract to publish their book. In this year’s contest, there will be separate finalists in the genres for Horror, YA, Scifi and fantasy, Romance, Thriller and General fiction which each winning category will get a $15000 award whilst there is a grand prize of $50,000 and a contract to publish with Amazon’s own publishing imprints. Romance and Me: Being Snowed in Romances
Hey Everyone!
The holidays are within sight (yay!) and the weather has turned icy as well brr.. Yesterday it snowed, so we spent about 2 hours shovelling snow from our sidewalk so we could access the gate and the door, which reminded me of how much I love “snowed in” romances! You know the kind where the hero and heroine get snowed in and have to spend a couple of days in close quarters and due this forced companionship their attraction sparks to life 😀 I just love that cozy feeling of reading about the elements being wild out there while the characters enjoy the quiet and warm inside, with a roaring fire some hot chocolate/mulled wine and their own personal entertainment 😉
So now that I remembered how much I love this setting I’m looking for some good “snowed in” recommendations, and I hope that’s where …
