Welcome to the Saturday evening edition of the café. After a hard day of holding a garage sale I have a bit of (what should be obvious) wisdom: if you’re planning on stopping by the café patio on a hot, sunny day, make sure you have lots of sunscreen on and find a nice place to sit under an umbrella. I say this because I have been accidentally burnt to a crisp today and because I care 😉 Enough thinly veiled complaints from me though, lets move on to the book giveaway business:

Welcome to this week’s news post! We have news and updates from the world of publishing such as the news of fantasy author, Terry Goodkind self published book, Kobo’s Vox opening up to Google Play and shenanigans with name fakery.
It is no secret that self published books on the Kindle, Smashwords and other digital platforms, have brought some major successes however there have been some drawbacks like spammy scraped ebooks which Amazon have recently made some headway into clearing that up. Nonetheless, this week, the curious case of a Nora A. Roberts who claims to be the best selling self published author on the Nook, but wait up this isn’t the popular mega-selling Nora Roberts behind the Chesapeake Bay Saga and the In Death series. This is an author who has added an initial to ride on the coattails of Nora Roberts so people may get confuse and mistakenly buy …
I’ll tell you a secret: besides being the Latin Lover and a big fan of Latin culture, I’ve been fascinated by the rich history and culture of China ever since my pre-teens. For my graduation gift I asked for a 2week trip to visit the imperial cities of China from my parents and since then my interest for it has grown.
So when I heard about My Fair Concubine, a historical romance set in Ancient China (!!) which was a retelling of My Fair Lady, I couldn’t say “Yes!” fast enough! 😀 Since then I devoured My Fair Concubine and discovered a new favourite author in Jeannie Lin. (You can read my review here.) So it is my great pleasure to welcome her to Book Lovers Inc. today and tell you all about her novels and all the research and secret that goes into writing …
Today I’m really excited to welcome author Kate Evangelista to Book Lovers, a YA author, who mark my words, is bound to do great things in the future! Her debut novel, Taste, is one of the best YA novels I read this year and certainly the most impressing one. The freshness of Kate’s voice and the way she presents her stories, are indicating a great story teller, at least in my opinion 🙂
So, let’s welcome Kate and let her describe in her own words her book. And don’t forget to check at the end of the post for a giveaway of Taste!
Anna: Kate, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Kate: I’m a full time writer who enjoys watching TV. I believe there’s a lot to learn about writing by watching shows like The Vampire Diaries, Sons of Anarchy, White Collar, the list goes on and on. 🙂 I …
Since I started blogging I’ve become much more adventurous when it comes to reading. I’m more open to taking chances and discovering some new genres/subgenres I previously never would have read. Two of my most recent discoveries were the fantasy and sci-fi subgenres.
The way I discovered sci-fi romance was quite accidental: I never set out to venture into science fiction land and read some “weird alien book” (what old, ignorant Stella would have said), it was not a conscious decision on my part.
I simply stumbled upon Gini Koch’s debut novel Touched by an Alien and loved its cover so much that after some internal debating and torturous dilemma (because in spite of the gorgeous knee-weakening cover I feared that as a sci-fi book I wouldn’t enjoy it) I gave in (hail to the inner cover whores 😉 ) and I was …
It is my absolute pleasure to welcome author Diane Alberts to BLI today! Diane has been taking over book sales charts with her recent romance releases, including On One Condition, Divinely Ruined, and her most recent effort, Try Me.
Some things that Diane is all about? Awesome characters (including yummy tortured heroes), clever story concepts, and a wealth of writerly passion and inspiration. She talks to us about all of these in the interview below, even sharing some tidbits about her book Divinely Ruined (check out the synopsis and BLI review here). So stay tuned (and give Diane a warm BLI welcome)!

Alisha: Welcome to BLI, Diane!
Diane: Thank you so much for having me here, today!
Alisha: Can you describe Divinely Ruined for us–Twitter style (140 characters or less)? ^_^
Diane: Rebecca doesn’t want love or a family. Yet Tony tempts her to give it all up for a chance at just that–even if …
Last Bastion of the Living: A Futuristic Zombie Novel by Rhiannon Frater
A walled city surrounded by lush land, protected by high mountain summits, and fortified by a massive gate to secure the only pass into the valley, The Bastion remained humanity’s last hope against the fearsome undead creatures known as the Inferi Scourge. On one fateful day, the valley gate failed and the Inferi Scourge overran and destroyed the human settlements outside the walls, trapping the remaining survivors inside the city. Now, decades later, the last remaining humans are struggling to survive in a dying city of dwindling resources…and dwindling hope.
Vanguard Maria Martinez has lived her entire life within the towering walls of steel. She yearns for a life away from the overcrowded streets, rolling blackouts, and food shortages, but there is no hope for anyone as long as the Inferi Scourge howl outside the high walls. Her …
I am very happy to introduce you today one of the friendliest authors I know, the wonderful Jess Haines, who pens the H&W Investigations urban fantasy series! Jess is celebrating the release of the 4th book, Stalking the Others with a mega blog tour and she was kind enough to stop by BLI today to answer all my burning questions. Stella: Hi Jess, welcome to Book Lovers Inc! Can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Jess: Thank you so much for having me!
I’m a tremendous dork. I love roleplaying games, computer games, and watching really bad movies. Writing has always been a passion of mine, and lately, I’ve used that passion to write an urban fantasy series like authors I admire, such as Jim …
Hello my fellow Book Lovers! How are you? We’re here for another week to highlight all those new releases that we crave even more so than chocolate. Well, not exactly, we never stop craving for some chocolate 😛 And preparing that post, along with making my TBR pile larger always makes me want to have a cupcake… I blame Susi for that. That button she made makes me hungry just by looking at it 😛
This week, there aren’t that many scheduled releases, but there are a couple really hot titles to sate our appetites. So, let’s start!
Stella: The Taken by Vicki Pettersson
He’s a fallen angel. She’s a rockabilly reporter. Together they must solve a deadly string of murders plaguing the mortal and the immortal worlds.
Griffin Shaw used to be a PI, but that was over fifty years ago when gumshoes hoofed the streets . . . …
