Welcome to this week’s news post and it has been a bit quiet in the world of books and publishing but there is news of more YA books being adapted to movies, the Nook may finally arrive across the big pond to the UK.
First up, Barnes and Noble have announced that the Nook will soon be available in the UK, in the near future and will be part of on an ongoing international roll-out for their ereading devices. However, it is not made clear on who they would be joining forces with to distribute the Nook in the UK. WH Smiths already has teamed up with the Kobo and Waterstones will be unveiling their own dedicated device in the next year. But it does look that the ereading market is going to heat up even further.
This might be good news on the VAT front for European Kindle readers. Luxembourg …

Today you will have the chance to win Deadly Descent by Kaylea Cross, Book #1 in the Bagram Special Ops series by romantic suspense and military romance author Kalyea Cross. I’ll start by a revelation/confession: not only was Deadly Descent a favourite read of mine in 2011, but it was also THE novel which made me discover a whole new genre: the world of military romance! (And if you think military romance equals romantic suspense you are mistaken and it is great time you discovered MR!)
I can only recommend Deadly Descent to anyone who loves thrilling action and sizzling romance, it was a fantastic read and I’m looking forward to reading the next books …
Hey Everyone!
Only 2 more weeks and it is Christmas!! *wait a few moments while I jump up and down and calm down my excitement* Ok I’m back. So with the holidays fast approaching I think the topic of today’s discussion is quite obvious: it’s time we talked about holiday romances!
Starting from the end of October holiday themed books start to flood bookshelves, and after mid-November everywhere you look you see Christmassy covers and holiday-related titles.
Until last year somehow I haven’t noticed this trend (maybe because I wasn’t blogging yet), but I participated in my very first holiday reading challenge last year and thanks to it I discovered the sub-category of holiday romances and became a fan! Maybe it’s because I love Christmas, and everything related to the holidays, or that I’ve always enjoyed holiday films as well, but I know that the combination …

True Colors by Thea Harrison
Meeting your soulmate? Great. Preventing your possible murder? Even better.
Alice Clark, a Wyr and schoolteacher, has had two friends murdered in as many days, and she’s just found the body of a third. She arrives at the scene only minutes before Gideon Riehl, a wolf Wyr and current detective in the Wyr Division of Violent Crime—and, as Alice oh-so-inconveniently recognizes at first sight, her mate.
But the sudden connection Riehl and Alice feel is complicated when the murders are linked to a serial killer who last struck seven years ago, killing seven people in seven days. They have just one night before the killer strikes again. And every sign points to Alice as the next victim.

Welcome to the 13th day of Book Lovers Inc Advent Calendar. Each day we will offer you one great read in a giveaway on all 24 days till Christmas.
Today you will have the chance to win one of my absolute favorite books of the year, the hot erotic romance about the handsome “addictive” Irish screenplay writer and director, Rill Pierce and the feisty Katie Hughes, Addicted To You by Bethany Kane (Beth Kery). I’ve long been a devout fan of Beth’s work and Addicted To You offers everything I’ve come to love about her stories. Complex characters, a riveting storyline, emotion, and PASSION. Katie, formerly a Beverly Hills tax attorney, quits her job, packs up her Maserati and heads to Vultures Canyon a very small Illinois town where Rill, wallowing in a well of self loathing has shunned his former illustrious career and is drinking himself to …
I seem to be in a vicious cycle of revisiting past locations in any of the books I’ve been reading lately, so I thought I would take a different route today. I’m currently reading I Am Half-Sick of Shadows by Alan Bradley. The book takes place somewhere in the English country side, but I thought it would be much more interesting to see where the author lives.
In fact, Mr. Bradley grew up in a town not 20 minutes from where I live now, but he has since moved to the lovely island of Malta. I have to be honest here, I had no idea where Malta was and (forgive me, anyone who resides there) at times mistake it for Madagascar (it might be time for me to bone up on my geography lessons :p ).
Anyway, I hope you’ve packed your bathing suit, as I whisk you away to …
