Hello my fellow Book Lovers everywhere in the world! How are you this weekend? Have you read anything really interesting lately that you want to share with us? Any recommendations would be grateful as for once more I’m in a book slump… I don’t know why I keep feeling this way more and more often. Anyway, this week will be a little bit slow bookwise I’m afraid. Not many titles are scheduled for release, and that is seriously not helping the fact that I don’t know what to read 😛 So, let’s see which titles caught our attention from the small selection this week.
Stella: The Rebound Girl by Tamara Morgan
Book one of Getting Physical
Plastic surgeon Whitney Vidra knows all about getting over a cheating ex. She followed her boyfriend halfway around the world before she found out about his infidelity. Now she’s focusing on her career …
You all know what a baking fanatic I am, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that after a macaron course last week (seriously I made so much tiny bright yellow, peach and rose coloured macarons that the family and friends have been eating them for a week and there are still some left!), I signed up to follow another set of classes taught by professional pastry chefs. The first class was yesterday and we learned how to make pain au chocolat, croissant, stollen, blundel and other breakfast pastries (like the ones pictured on the right). So you can imagine how happy that made the family that for this morning they could have their pick from a whole big box of treats I did yesterday 😀 lol
This week we only have 1 lonely winner to announce, and that is
the lucky winner of an ebook copy of any of the …

We are happy to welcome to Book Lovers Inc. Ros Baxter, author of Fish Out of Water, a mermaid story unlike any other you know! So join us as Ros tells us about her fascination with mermaids and how HER kind of mermaid is nothing like Ariel 😉 Ros, take it away! 😀
The best thing about children…
…is that they haven’t yet been told there is stuff they can’t do.
At least mine haven’t.
So when I asked my daughter (4) the other day what she wanted to be when she grew up, she told me with that trademark don’t-you-remember look on her face: “A pirate, of course.” Ah, of course. Silly me.
And when I asked my son (7), he shot me an almost identical look (genes are scary) and said: ”Rock star, remember?”
For me, it was always a mermaid.
What was …
I fervently adore negative reviews. A negative review provides the perfect framework to fully interact with a book. That pissed off reviewer hates things about a book that I loved, is outraged by something I completely missed, or shares in the absurdity of the so-called worldbuilding the author alleges to have undertaken.
On any given day, I have to listen to an abusive oil lineman convince a Judge that the wife cut the brakes in her own car, or a Napoleonic landlord claim it was a violation of the lease for a family to light a fire in the fireplace in Alaska in the winter.
I want to read something cathartic; wherein the assholes get what’s coming to them. Alternately, I’m interested in something that gives me hope for the human condition. Either/Or. When I don’t get that…..
I. Am. Pissed.
But I fly right passed …
