I’m excited to be here on Book Lovers Inc. Thanks for the invite. My debut novel, Split, will hit the shelves in March 9th and is narrated by 16 year old Jace Witherspoon, who has just run 1300 miles after hitting his father back. He hasn’t seen his brother, Christian in five years, but with nowhere else to go, he shows up on Christian’s doorstep with bruises and a secret. Split is about what happens after you get out.
When I first spoke to my editor, she said that she promised herself she wouldn’t ask me whether I had any personal experience with domestic violence and I realized that I was going to get that question a lot. Luckily, my answer is no. The follow up question to that is then, why did I …

Book Blurb:
Junior Tola Riley doesn’t care what people say about her. She knows her ever-changing hair color and goth clothes make her an easy target. Whatever. But the latest rumor is different…. The entire school believes she had an affair with her art teacher. The rumors may be a lie, but the fallout is all too real. Will Tola finally stand up for the truth?
With a heroine you’ll root for and a truly relevant story, Laura Ruby has once again brought the authentic teen experience to life for readers who relish dark humor and razor-sharp wit.
My Thoughts:
This is the story of a High School Junior named Tola Riley who is accused …
Book Lovers Inc: What is your favorite color and what do you think it says about you or how does it represent you?
Skyler White: I don’t really have a favorite color. Green, probably. Or black. I imagine what that says about me is that I’m somewhat non-committal. Or that I like spring and growth. Or winter and death. 😉
BLI: What is your favorite type of music?
SW: Gak, I’m going to be non-committal throughout, looks like. I like a lot of different kinds of music, depending on my mood. I love the sound of the cello, but I also love the terrible music I grew up with in the 80’s. I’m an old-school U2 fan, but I’m loving Lady Gaga right now.
BLI: Many authors talk about the music they listen …

Being the first female werecat enforcer isn’t easy. Scars accumulate, but I’m stronger in so many ways.

*Book 2 in the Toby Daye Series: Spoilers may be present if you have not read Book 1 – which I highly recommend!*
Back Cover Text:
October “Toby” Daye is a changeling, the daughter of Amandine of the fae and a mortal man. Like her mother, she is gifted in blood magic, able to read what has happened to a person through a mere taste of blood.
Half-human, half-fae, outsiders from birth, most changelings are second-class children of Faerie spending their lives fighting for the respect of their immortal relations. Toby is the only changeling who has earned knighthood, and she re-earns that position every day, …
The Equation Bookshelf is designed by Marcos Breder and is one of the most stylish geeky things I’ve ever seen. It plays with the mathematical methods of separation and organizes your books with them. You can put the important stuff in the (parentheses) or just sort them in your own system in the [square brackets] and {braces}. I found this one at Designspotter.
And OMG take a look at this one. I so adore it. It’s so funny. I just need a flat-panel TV. LOL But back to the bookshelf:
The Puckman bookcase is made of shining varnished wood. The Colour is yellow to remind you of the famous character of the 80’s classic video-game “Pac-Man”.
Unfortunately it has no prize. You have to request that and I think that is warning enough for my credit card. I found this here and you can visit the website of the designer …

AN ALLURING LAIRD
He was known throughout the kingdom as Hawk, legendary predator of the battlefield and the boudoir. No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart—until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne de Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland. Captive in a century not her own, entirely too bold, too outspoken, she was an irresistibly challenge to the sixteenth-century rogue. Coerced into a marriage with Hawk, Adrienne vowed to keep him at arm’s length—but his sweet seduction played havoc with her resolve.
A PRISONER IN TIME
She had a perfect “no” on her perfect lips for the notorious laird, but Hawk swore she would whisper his name with desire, begging for the passion he longed to ignite in her. Not even the …

Are enhanced versions of e-books the next best thing or a passing fad?
I am not a huge fan of eBooks in general, but the convenience of them sometimes gets to me and I will download one or a…few. I own a Sony eReader, but hardly ever use it. Just yesterday though, I downloaded a book onto my iPod Touch…because the book was free that way. I guess my point is that for me it comes down to how convenient is it or how much effort is it? I prefer books I can hold in my hand, flip …
