Guest Post: HelenKay Dimon + Giveaway

We are delighted to welcome back HelenKay Dimon today in celebration of the release of the first book in her new Hanover Brothers series, No Turning Back which has been greeted with rave reviews! No Turning Back is published by Berkley InterMix and became available for download on March 19, 2013.

Take it away HelenKay! 🙂

Thank you for having me here today to talk about my newest release, NO TURNING BACK. The book follows the sons of a notorious con man, focusing on our hero, Declan. The heroine, Leah, is the daughter of one of the con man’s first victims. As you can imagine, that makes for a rocky road to romance.

I loved the idea of exploring how events outside of the hero and heroine’s control could have them spinning. Declan has his father’s messed-up legacy to handle and overcome. Leah has been taught by her …

On the Booklovers’ Shelves: Objects In Photo More Numerous Than They Appear

We’ve probably all seen the safety warning on the passenger side mirrors  of  cars. Wikipedia says it’s not just a US phenomenon, that other countries do this too. You know the phrase, “objects in mirror are closer than they appear”.

Sometimes it’s not real until after you’ve backed into the car behind you, usually while parallel parking. C’est la vie.

However, I’m here about books. And bookshelves. And the objects in this photo are more numerous than they appear. We moved from the Atlanta suburbs to Seattle in December. In spite of my current preference for ebooks, it hasn’t always been so.

Not to mention, I’ve been collecting books for decades. Every conceivably available wall in our apartment has a six-foot tall bookshelf “decorating” it. This picture isn’t of a room. It’s the hallway. We (my husband is just as much of a collector as I am) have over …

Romance and Me: Discovering Amish Romances

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to let you in on what has been going in my life reading-wise in the past two weeks. I read Temptation by Kathryn Barrett, one of Entangled Publishing’s new releases, which is a contemporary romance featuring a modern heroine discovering life and finding love in an Amish setting*. I have to say that prior to this novel my knowledge of the Amish was very limited (my excuse is that living in Europe we don’t hear/learn about them much), I saw For Richer or Poorer with Kirstie Alley and Tim Allen when I was a teen, but that was about it.

So yes, Temptation opened a whole new world to me. (But before I get to that let me tell you what a wonderful, well-written, heart-warming yet sexy story it was, so make sure to pick …
