The Heatwave Winner post
Hey Everyone!
I don’t know how the weather is in your corner of the world, but for the past weeks we had unperturbed sunshine and hot summer days with the usual 30-33 C degrees, but this weekend Mother Nature turned up the heat and grilled us with 38-40 C! And not living in a tropic or Mediterranean climate let me tell you this is very unusual and too hot. So I spent the weekend home chilling, doing laundry and making ice creams. 😉 Sounds like a great time, doesn’t it? Well it was except for my neighbours who decided to start vacuuming at 7am on Saturday! Seriously, who does that?? Anyway this week’s winner is… *drumroll please*

Christmas in July!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL!!!
What is she on about you ask? Why it’s Christmas in July of course!
Today I wanted to point out that the all the people in the Northern Hemisphere should be experiencing Summer at the moment, which is when I experience Christmas, so I am here with a special treat for you all:
Chilled Eggnog!
This is a recipe many of us use to help keep cool on a hot Christmas day which is useless to you guys during traditional Christmas…but should hopefully cool some of you down during a scorching Christmas in July.
Now I don’t use proper measurements when I cook so you will need to bear with me for this….
Ingredients:
Ice
3 eggs
500mL Milk (Full Cream or Lite Milk works best – Don’t use 2%/Skim Milk…it’s too watery)
Rum
Brandy

Welcome to this week’s bookish news and in this edition we have news that Penguin has settled with the EU who have now ended their plans to investigate Agency pricing collusion, another plagiarism case but this time with more wtfery and more book news!
Earlier in the year I reported that Penguin has offered to stop using Agency pricing in the EU who had instigated an antitrust investigation into the reports of collusion. With the recent cases in the US which ruled that Apple and the big publishers were guilty in collusion – it looked pretty obvious with the evidence stacking against the companies that the EU decision will face a similar result. Let’s Celebrate Christmas… in July!
Hey Everyone!
In case you think we are nuts (we are, but that’s a different story for another day 😉 lol) for being in such a festive mood let me tell you that Christmas in July is a real thing as our friends from the Southern hemisphere (*waves to Amanda the Winged Lover*) and even Wikipedia can tell you. But to make you feel better I just learned that recently as well. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been celebrating or getting in the Christmas-mood before that. Let me share with you a confession.
