Guest Post: "How do you research?" by Kylie Brant + Giveaway

Today we have the wonderful Kylie Brant here to tell us about some of her methods when researching material for her books. Kylie is the author of the fantastic Mindhunters series plus numerous romance titles such as Terms of Engagement, Terms of Attraction and Terms of Surrender. Today is also the release date of her newest novel, Deadly Sins. Congrats to Kylie and let’s celebrate all we can!

Take it away Kylie!

Think the worst writing advice I’ve ever heard is that old adage “write what you know”. What I know is not all that interesting. Oh sure, I’ve got some good material based on experience that might make an entertaining short story. If someone wants to know how to make dinner for seven with …

The Kate Andrews series by Ilona Andrews

Caro: What really strikes me is that it’s not the same model for the 3 covers (or at least it doesn’t look like it). I really dislike the cover of the first book, she looks…dirty. That shadow close to her mouth is …

Guestpost: A Gargoyle’s Guide to Important Characters in Black Night by Christina Henry + Giveaway

Today we are happy to welcome Christina Henry back at Book Lovers Inc. Black Night, book two in her Madeline Black series releases today. She brought along a little Guide about her characters composed by the more than awesome Beezle. Believe me, he’s a riot. Stay tuned till the end for your chance to win.

Hi! My name is Beezle, and I will be your incredibly handsome guide for today’s tour of important characters in BLACK NIGHT, the sequel to BLACK WINGS.

The first and most important character in the book, obviously, is me. Whenever I am in a scene I add much-needed intelligence. Maddy is no dummy, but she’s way too emotional and without me she’d end up doing even more dangerous things than she already does. Plus, without me there would never be doughnuts in the house. Maddy doesn’t …

Madeline Black is an Agent of death, meaning she escorts the souls of people who have died to the afterlife. Of course, not everyone is happy to see her…

If obstinate dead people were all that Maddy had to worry about, life would be much easier. But the best-laid plans of Agents and fallen angels often go awry. Deaths are occurring contrary to the natural order, Maddy’s being stalked by foes inside and outside of her family, and her two loves-her bodyguard, Gabriel, and her doughnut-loving gargoyle, Beezle-have disappeared. A Life Less…Hers
Grace Mills craves being perfect almost as much as she craves raspberry scones. In fact, her life would be perfect if only she could lose ten more pounds, if only the pastry café she co-owns with her sister would turn a profit, if only the hottest guy at the gym would look her way…
And then “if only” comes true. Grace is suddenly straddling two lives: an alternate reality where she’s a size two, weathergirl celebrity and being chased by the hot guy. Only Mr. Gorgeous isn’t very nice.

In her other life, she’s starting to realize her sister is less than happy running the family café, and hunky Carlos, …

Book Blurb:

As an Agent of Death, Madeline Black is responsible for escorting the souls of the dearly departed to the afterlife. It’s a 24/7 job with a lousy benefits package.

Maddy’s position may come with magical powers and an impressive wingspan, but it doesn’t pay the bills. And then there are her infuriating boss, tenant woes, and a cranky, popcorn-loving gargoyle to contend with.

Things start looking up, though, when tall, dark, and handsome Gabriel Angeloscuro agrees to rent the empty apartment in Maddy’s building. It’s probably just a coincidence that as soon as he moves in demons appear on the front lawn. But when …

The Good, the Bad and the Are-You-Kidding-Me?

I don’t want to read all those books (well ok I want to read 95% of them lol) , some are books I can’t wait to read, some are covers I just find gorgeous, some I really don’t know anything about. It’s all for the pleasure of the eyes 😉

You can look at it as my  ‘Shallow Wish-list of Most Wanted Covers’, based mostly on how pretty or original I find the covers. So here they come…
