BLI: Jim can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Jim: Well, I’m a 40-something father of four, or eight if you include the pets in the house. I’m an aspiring middle school math teacher. I’m something of a fantasy gamer geek (yes, I play WoW), love astronomy, and generally I think you could call me something of a nerd. Hopefully in a good way. I’ve been writing since I was about 14, thanks …

Jill: I …
Today we want to talk about a topic that irks the hell out of us. We are sure you noticed this too but we finally couldn’t hold back any longer. Changing the cover model in the middle of the series seems to be a bigger habit than we thought so we tried to come up with a few examples to show you how it’s well and not so well done. Here’s what we found. Let us know what you think about our selection.
Susi: Our first example is probably also the one where this whole different cover model problem is handled best. You can’t really see her face on Alpha so it’s harder to noticed that it’s not the same girl. I actually really like how they …

Thank you to Book Lovers Inc. for inviting me along to the blog today. I thought I might chat a little about how I come up with the characters in my stories.
Every writer I’ve spoken to in the past has a different formula for coming up with their characters. Some start out with a physical description or maybe have an …
Seduce Me in Dreams by Jacquelyn Frank
From the New York Times bestselling author of the Nightwalkers and Shadowdwellers series, Seduce Me in Dreams begins a sexy new futuristic series featuring an elite group of military heroes.
Dark. Mysterious. Sensual. When Bronse Chapel, the commander of a specialized unit of the Interplanetary Militia, begins to dream about a beautiful and exotic brunette, he wants to dismiss it as being induced by lack of sleep . . . or perhaps lack of sex. Ravenna is the leader of the Chosen Ones, a small group of people from her village born with extraordinary powers. She doesn’t know that draws her to Bronse’s dreams night after night, but she senses that he and his team are in jeopardy. Ravenna can help him, …

Book Blurb:
DEA Agent Kendall Frasier doesn’t want to see the man who shot and killed her partner. Zane Vincent wants to forget about the bust gone bad and the man he killed. When both officers arrive at the same tropical island for a department-regulated vacation, more heats up than just the sand and sun. Will they let their past prejudices keep them from giving in to their mutual attraction, or will Zane and Kendall both succumb to a little Friendly Fire?
My Thoughts:
I’m always a bit anxious when I pick up a short story because let’s be honest most of us have the prejudice that a short story can’t …
This week we decided to let our snarky-self free (not like we’re usually nice or anything *wink*) and give you the worst of German and French vampire book covers. Ok so maybe they aren’t the worst but they wouldn’t make us pick up the books. This selection left us a bit frustrated. This week we’re not fighting for best covers but Worst covers! Help us decide which country wins (or in this case loses lol because there’s no winning with such uglies)
Caroline’s Selection:
Caroline: The Kerrelyn Sparks cover is just plain scary. That guy looks like a crazy psycho and I can’t stare too long of I’ll end up …

How many of you remember the drudgery of researching at your local library? Thanks to the internet, things are a lot easier now. I do my research, probably like most other writers: books and the internet. However, you have to be careful where you get your information and whether or not it is indeed accurate. Your best bet is to find someone in the field you are researching and ask them to lend their expertise. Most …
Wilder’s Mate by Moira Rogers
Think a vampire-hunting bloodhound is dangerous? Try threatening his woman.
Bloodhounds, Book 1
Wilder Harding is a bloodhound, created by the Guild to hunt down and kill vampires on America’s frontier. His enhanced abilities come with a high price: on the full moon, he becomes capable of savagery beyond telling, while the new moon brings a sexual hunger that borders on madness.
Rescuing a weapons inventor from undead kidnappers is just another assignment, though one with an added complication—keeping his hands off the man’s pretty young apprentice, who insists on tagging along.
At odds with polite society, Satira’s only constant has been the aging weapons inventor who treats her like a daughter. She isn’t going to trust Wilder with Nathaniel’s life, not when the Guild might decide the old man isn’t worth saving. Besides, if there’s one …

“Before Enlightenment, carry water and chop wood. After Enlightenment, carry water and chop wood.”
-The Buddha
First off, let me thank all the Book Lovers for inviting me here today! I look forward to meeting everyone.
Second, I’m not Buddhist, but I’ve always liked the saying above. It gives a good idea of what writing is like. Just substitute ‘publication’ for ‘enlightenment’ and ‘write, edit, write some more’ for ‘carry water and chop …
