You all know what a baking fanatic I am, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that after a macaron course last week (seriously I made so much tiny bright yellow, peach and rose coloured macarons that the family and friends have been eating them for a week and there are still some left!), I signed up to follow another set of classes taught by professional pastry chefs. The first class was yesterday and we learned how to make pain au chocolat, croissant, stollen, blundel and other breakfast pastries (like the ones pictured on the right). So you can imagine how happy that made the family that for this morning they could have their pick from a whole big box of treats I did yesterday 😀 lol
This week we only have 1 lonely winner to announce, and that is
the lucky winner of an ebook copy of any of the …
Hey Everyone!
Have you ever noticed that although almost all cultures have a day celebrating mothers this isn’t the same day across the world? In Hungary Mothers’ Day is the first Sunday in May, but I know that just in Europe, the British, the French and even the Belgian celebrate it on a different day.
Here moms are usually given flowers and kids surprise them with small gestures like preparing breakfast (and sometimes even bringing it to bed), and when children are small they usually sing some special songs for the occasion.
So knowing me, you know that besides the flowers there will be some home-baked treats as well 😉
So where you are, when is Mothers’ Day celebrated? And what do you usually do? Are there any specific traditions?
And before I take my leave here are this week’s winners:
the lucky winner of an ebook copy of the Service anthology is:

Well if you are curious to know what kind of sweet treat I have baked this week you don’t have to wonder anymore I’ll tell you, I made a selection of triple cookies: some coconutty chocolate chip cookies, cappuccino coconut chocolate chip cookies and chocolate coconut cookies, as you can bet the family loved them and wolfed them down for breakfast, and then asked me to bake a second batch to eat with our afternoon lattes! 😉 And now we have some leftover cookies for Sunday as well, so winwin 😉 (and the biggest joke of all, people keep telling me that I have lost weight am I on some diet, I just smile (while I grin inside and laugh my head off, sure baking and eating desserts daily does wonders to my silhouette! LOL :-D)
And today being Sunday time to announce this week’s winners:
