Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse, #12) by Charlaine Harris
With Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), in town, it’s the worst possible time for a body to show up in Eric Northman’s front yard—especially the body of a woman whose blood he just drank.
Now, it’s up to Sookie and Bill, the official Area Five investigator, to solve the murder. Sookie thinks that, at least this time, the dead girl’s fate has nothing to do with her. But she is wrong. She has an enemy, one far more devious than she would ever suspect, who’s out to make Sookie’s world come crashing down.

We’re very excited to welcome bestselling historical romance author Kate Noble to BLI today! She stops by to talk about the relationship between music and her writing. For Kate, certain music perfectly encapsulates the emotion and tone of a scene or story, making it into a soundtrack of sorts. Today, that soundtrack is to her latest release, If I Fall, a story of betrayal and redemption–perfect for the most poignant of music. Please give her a warm BLI welcome!
The Soundtrack of If I Fall.
Like many authors, I write to music. Plugging my headphones in and shutting out the rest of the real world helps me to inhabit the universe I’m currently mucking about in. If I’m in the middle of writing an action scene, I’ll generally queue up the soundtracks to epic movies, like Gladiator and 28 Days Later. If I’m writing an emotional scene, Jeff Buckley suddenly becomes …
Today we’re heading off mainland America, to the destination of Staten Island, thanks in part to Clarissa Yip’s True Connections. I’ve heard the name before but don’t really know much beyond the need to travel by ferry to get there. Funny, when I was looking for images, more often that not, it was the ferry that was highlighted.
Yip’s story takes place in Grant City, part of Staten Island, but I thought we’d take a look at the whole thing. For me, Staten Island means summer rides, boardwalks, and amusement parks. Let’s see how my knowledge compares:

Jessica McClain was born the only female in an all male race. The only problem is-she’s no wolf. Called a curse, a witch and the Daughter of Evil by the superstitious wolves, Jessica decides to fight for her freedom, at age nineteen, the only way she can-in the ring.
When she’s brutally attacked right after her fight, is it enough to finally earn her freedom off Compound, or will she be forced to endure the hatred even longer . . .
My Thoughts:

Remember last week we couldn’t just pick one book from all the amazing titles that were scheduled for release? Well, this week isn’t all that much better… Again, there are so many books we just can’t pick only one… Among the highlights are Insurgent by Veronica Roth, the newest release by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Black Dawn by Rachel Caine and so, so many others that should I start listing them, this post would never end. I’m exaggerating a bit here, but you get what I mean 😛
So, without further delay, let’s start with this week’s Sunday Cravings!
Caro: Insurgent by Veronica Roth
One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics …
Hey Everyone!
After a very busy week (there were days or rather nights when I got home from work after 11 pm) I am finally on vacation! A mini-vacation per se, but a vacation nonetheless. A couple days I can spend with my family chilling and reading (well so far didn’t really do any of the last 2 as we spent the last nights talking until dawn with my sister 😉 ).
And thankfully I won’t have to work until Wednesday, so for once I am not gloomy that it is Sunday (despite the gray and rainy weather…) 😀
This week a lot of giveaways have ended, you know that means that a lot of people will get a great surprise: an e-mail notifying them of their win in their inbox! So let me tell you who won this week.
Congratulations to

Welcome back to the café! Take the café is taking it on the road: to a theme park :p How many of you out there enjoy roller coaster and other thrill rides? Personally, I’d rather take a book and just enjoy the weather (though there isn’t much to enjoy today) and the funnel cakes 🙂 Maybe I’ll step outside my safe zone and try a baby coaster…. Wish me luck!
As for bookish business: Remember to let us know if you’ve won anything recently; the Book Lovers would love to hear! At Book Lovers Inc., it’s our pleasure to share the bookish love! Good luck to everyone and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Welcome to this week’s post and it has certainly been a very very eventful one, and not all of it was good with the news about the issue of plagiarism and the popular blogger The Story Siren which has caused a major and epic fallout. However there was also good news, with the announcement by Tor/Forge ebooks will be DRM free this summer, more adaptations based on books and we also have the usual books to look out for!
The Story Siren was accused of plagiarism when fashion bloggers Beautifully Invisible and Grit and Glamour found their How To’s blog posts were lifted without any credit. They provided evidence although they never named The Story Siren as the plagiarist but her identity was easily tracked down in their post about the incidents. I am not going to delve into great detail about the The Story Siren’s and plagiarism because blogs …
