Happy Monday, book lovers! I’m beyond excited to say that we have author Amanda Stevens here at BLI today! She stops by to answer some of our burning questions about her paranormal/ mystery/ romance hybrid series, The Graveyard Queen. She also discusses some of the influences that go into her writing, as well as her take on those things that go bump in the night. You don’t want to miss this one (and worry not; no spoilers here!). Please give her a very warm BLI welcome.
Alisha: So happy to have you at BLI today, Amanda! First off: How would you describe Amelia and her world….Twitter style (140 characters or less)? ^_^
Amanda: Dark, lush, dreamy and Southern. 😉
Your protagonist, Amelia, is quite complex in her background, her abilities, her motivations, and her desires. What aspects about her first called to you? Was she originally conceived as she is now? Did …

Hey Everyone!
The week was busy with work (I even had to work on Saturday ugh) but thankfully next week will whoosh by equally fast, because come Friday I’ll fly away to spend 4.5 days with my family and hopefully then I’ll be able to recharge my batteries and sleep and read!! So I’ll be charging my Kindle and taking all those books I have yearned to read the past couple of weeks (like Deep Dark Secret by Sierra Dean, Somebody to Love by Kristan Higgins and My Wicked Gladiators by Lauren Hawkeye and many more!).
Today I have only 1 winner to announce (I know, we haven’t had such a quiet week for a long time), but no worries, there are 5 giveaways going on, so next week there will be lots of winners, enter before it’s too late!
And now, let’s …

What do you all think about a day of undisturbed, unadulterated reading?

Welcome to this week’s news post and we got more news on Amazon acquiring the backlist titles by Ian Flemming’s Bond books, Kobo stepping up their game and more book and author news!
Amazon announced they closed a deal to publish the backlist James Bond titles by Ian Flemming in the US. They reached an agreement to release ebook and print editions over a ten year period – the deal also includes his non-fiction books and writings. Vintage will also be issuing the James Bond books outside the US, and other territories in the English language – think this is pretty savvy especially with the new James Bond movie coming up.
Kobo has stated that they are planning to invest more into a self publishing similar to the Pubit and Amazon’s self publishing schemes, they also plan to move into twelve more territories offering their ebooks and site into Europe. They also …

Hey Everyone!
It has come to our attention (thanks Amanda for pointing it out) that lately there has been a real billionaire hero boom in romance novels. No, of course I’m not saying this is something new, wealthy, obscenely rich, exotic heroes were always à la mode for category romances, it’s only that in the past couple of weeks we have read novel after novel featuring one of them (like Weekend Agreement, The Marriage Bargain, Blackmailed by the Italian Billionaire just to name a few). So we wondered what is it about rich heroes that makes them such a popular choice?
Nina Croft author of Blackmailed by the Italian Billionaire even asked readers for their opinion and here are some of their answers:
Gaby: I think it’s because usually money gives a man power, and women don’t like powerless …
