Born to Darkness (Fighting Destiny, #1) by Suzanne Brockmann
Dishonorably discharged, former Navy SEAL Shane Laughlin is down to his last ten bucks when he finally finds work as a test subject at the Obermeyer Institute, a little-known and believed-to-be-fringe scientific research facility. When he enters the OI compound, he is plunged into a strange world where seemingly mild-mannered scientists—including women half his size—can kick his highly skilled ass.
Shane soon discovers that there are certain individuals who possess the unique ability to access untapped regions of the brain with extraordinary results—including telekinesis, super strength, and reversal of the aging process. Known as “Greater-Thans,” this rare breed is recruited by OI, where they are rigorously trained using ancient techniques to cultivate their powers and wield them responsibly.
But in the depths of America’s second Great Depression, where the divide between the haves and the have-nots has grown even wider, those who …
We are happy to welcome author Jill Limber here at Book Lovers Inc. today. She writes romance stories with heart and her story Montana Morning is one of those. Today she is here to tell us how she comes up with the ideas for her stories. Be sure to leave a comment at the end of the post for your chance to win your copy of Montana Morning.
I just had a friend ask me where I got my idea for Montana Morning. For me, it always starts with musing over a ‘What if?’ What if a woman needed a husband but didn’t really want to be married? Where would she get a guy she could marry, but would be practically guaranteed that he would leave, sooner rather than later?
This question about ideas seems to come up a lot, so I thought it might be a good …
I’ve been reading The Marriage Bargain by Jennifer Probst recently. Her book takes place in Newburgh, New York, which I had never heard of until picking this book up. Of course, I had to take a look and see.
According to the all-mighty Wiki, Newburgh is “located in Orange County, New York, United States, 60 miles (97 km) north of New York City, and 90 miles (140 km) south of Albany, on the Hudson River”. In researching this post, I found lots of information about Newburgh’s restoration attempts which is featured prominently in Probst’s book too. A nice little tie in, I think. So let’s take a tour and check out this quaint area:

Do you believe that sex magic is real?
Since the kind of magic practiced by the witches in my novel, Body Temperature and Rising, is sex magic, I was asked the other day in an interview for a blog post, if I believed that sex magic is real. My answer was something along the lines that I believe …

Welcome to this week’s news post and oh what a week it has been – I think this issue is going to have some major comments and discussion over the news and updates I will post such as the fact that 50 Shades trilogy has been picked up by a major publisher, authors behaving badly again and again, and Paypal has decided to backdown from its stance on explicit books.
The first big news is the fact that E.L James’, Fifty Shades trilogy has been picked up by a major publisher in a seven figure deal. Vintage books will be releasing new editions of the books in ebook formats and paperback (in a few more weeks). The Commonwealth rights have also been sold and there is now more talk of the movie deal, which seems to hint that it might be very close to coming to fruitition. It is …
