Book Blurb:

Nothing says “home” like being attached by humans with very large guns, as Jane and Anyan discover when they arrive in Rockabill. Seeing Anyan fall awakens a terrible power within Jane, and she nearly destroys herself taking out their attackers.

Jane wakes, weeks later, to discover that she’s not the only thing that’s been stirring. Something underneath Rockabill is coming to life: something ancient, something powerful, and something that might destroy the world.

Jane and her friends must act, striking out on a quest that only Jane can finish. For whatever lurks beneath the Old Sow must be stopped…and Jane’s just the Halfling for the job.

My Thoughts:

Eye of the Tempest was another fast paced instalment in this fantastic series.

Sunday Cravings

Hello my fellow Book Lovers! How was this week for you? Mine consisted mostly of drama, real cold weather and then some more of the same. Thank goodness a new week starts tomorrow, where let’s just hope that the weather won’t be that bad… Honestly, it’s so cold that even in the thought of going out makes me shudder!

The next week isn’t really heavy on new releases, but there are still some books that I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on! So, let’s see our Cravings for the week to come!

Stella: I’ve Got your Number by Sophie Kinsella

I’ve lost it. The only thing in the world I wasn’t supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It’s been in Magnus’s family for three generations. And now, the very same day his parents are coming, I’ve lost it. The very same day. Do not hyperventilate Poppy. Stay …

The Bored Winner Post

Hey Everyone!

Sorry no great story to tell today. Thankfully we didn’t have any more snow, so no further snow shovelling for me, it has been sunny but freezing cold. Lately I have the doubt that I’m in a  reading low. I haven’t had the high, excitement and enthusiasm I tend to have when reading great stories. I am bored and easily irritated with the story and characters. And I have the feeling it’s maybe not the stories’ fault but my being short tempered. Maybe I’m worrying for nothing and it’s all due to the fact that my exam is drawing near and it’s stressing me out on some subconscious level and not letting me enjoy too much any pleasure read, so next week I’ll have to go on another reading ban. For the last week before my bar exam, I forbid myself to read anything I would enjoy as I fear I …

Welcome to this week’s news post! We have some breaking news about Apple’s announcement on the new ipad, new books being announced as well as books to watch out for!

Apple will be hosting a press conference to announce the new Ipad in the first week of March.  It is rumoured that it will be much faster and will have a better screen compared to its predescessors but I can’t not help feel meh on this because the leaked details aren’t that exciting. It is also assumed that after the announcement that the Ipad will be available for preorder although no release date is scheduled so far.

The UK arm of Harlequin, Mills and Boons are going to launch an e-short imprint – Mira will also follow suit and will offer e-shorts which will range around 10 thousand words in advance of full books by authors such as Victoria Fox …

My Wishlist: The Series (Re-) Read Edition

I received an email from Audible with a great offer for ‘Book One’s’ of a bunch of series’ and it got me thinking about the ones I haven’t read yet…and also the ones I’d love to re-read, if time were available. There are just so many!

First, Anne Rice has a new book due out next week (which I will be reading ASAP), but in the news yesterday was the possibility of Tale of the Body Thief being made into a film. This would mean casting a new Lestat, which is an exciting prospect, I think. This got me thinking about how much and why I loved the Lestat books, fueling my desire to experience them again. Anne Rice was probably the first (and perhaps the best) author that worked history into her stories in such a convincing way. From working on a master piece in Italy, to a monk’s …
