Sunday Cravings

Hello my fellow Book Lovers! How have you been? I hope your week has been far greater than me, seeing how I was incapacitated with fever for the better part of the week 😛 But, for one more week I’m here to highlight with you all the releases that we can’t help but drool over. Yeah, you get it right, nothing can hold me away from you for long 🙂

So, let’s start!

Stella: Ask Her at Christmas by Christi Barth

Caitlin McIntyre’s heart stops when her best friend drops to one knee and proposes. Kyle Lockhart never once hinted over the years that he has any idea she’s in love with him. Not wanting to jeopardize their friendship, she’s never let it slip. Good thing, too, since it turns out he’s only practicing—he’s about to propose to someone else.

A business merger might not be the most romantic reason …

The Pie-tastic Winner Post!

Hey Everyone!

Since I don’t have anything interesting to tell you about my weekend (had to work on Saturday and so the weekend was painfully short for me 🙁 ), I’ll tell you about last weekend, when I was playing the role of Martha Stewart in the kitchen and turned it into a Pie Factory 😀 Namely I have been wanting to try out what a pumpkin pie tastes like (living outside the US I have never eaten it), so besides a beautifully scented pumpkin pie (it smelled like Christmas in my kitchen due to the cinnamon  nutmeg and ginger combo) I also prepared a traditional apple pie. Both had tremendous success with the family as they didn’t survive the serving 😉 So now my enthusiasm for pies has morphed into obsession: I want a beautifully polka dotted pie pan and would give anything for a pie chain (which to this day …

Around the Bookish World: Week-In-Review

Welcome to this week’s news post and it is has been an eventful week with news of more lawsuits over 50 Shades infringement, Random House new Digital imprints, and more book news!

Random House has announced they will soon be launching three digital imprints called Alibi (Mystery and Suspense), Flirt (New Adult) and Hydra (Scifi and Fantasy) which will join their sister imprint, Loveswept (Romance).  Random House is also on the search for self published authors who are willing to submit their books to these imprints, which is not surprising because quite a few authors have been recently picked up by major publishers via self publishing platforms. But Random House is not the only big publisher expanding in digital imprint, HarperCollins, Penguin and Simon and Schuster have all released or will be starting their own lines. More information on submissions can be found here.

Simon and Schuster have entered …

But another Chosen One gets …

Interview with C.H. Admirand + Giveaway

Today we bring you C.H. Admirand who’s celebrating the release of her latest novel A Wedding in Apple Grove, which is the first book in her brand new Small Town USA contemporary romance series. Join us as we discuss small towns, romance, and Happily Ever Afters! 😉

Stella: Hi C.H., welcome to Book Lovers Inc! Can you please tell us a bit about yourself?

C.H.: Hi Stella, thanks for inviting me to be interviewed. I’m a huge fan of the “Happily Ever After (HEA)” and am addicted to Romance. I fell in love at first sight at 17 with the man who still makes my heart stop. We have three amazing kids—two sons and a daughter in the middle—and now a son-in-law and darling year old grandson. I have characters arguing in my head until I agree to write their stories. I love to bake—am …

Review: An Apple for the Creature by Charlaine Harris (ed.)

 Format Read: ebook.
Number of Pages: 336.
Release Date: September 4, 2012.
Genre: Urban Fantasy, Anthology.
Publisher: Ace.
Formats Available:  ebook, hardcover.
Purchasing Info: Goodreads, Bookdepository, Author.

Book Blurb:

What could be scarier than the first day of school? A crash course in the paranormal from Charlaine Harris and Toni L. P. Kelner, editors of Home Improvement: Undead Edition. Your worst school nightmares will pale in comparison to these thirteen original stories that take academic anxiety to new realms.

My Thoughts:

I HATE hardcover. Why? Because it is expensive, makes my books heavy, and takes up way too much physical space. To make things even worse, the hardcover print editions jack up the prices on ebooks. It’s extortion and I won’t stand for it! Even when there is a new Ilona-story included.

Which is why I shamelessly promoted the new Sookie story in this anthology to a certain  Viking-vampire groupie who does not share my qualms about underhanded …

Guest Post: Katie Porter + Giveaway!

We are delighted to welcome back Katie Porter a.k.a. writing duo Lorelie Brown & Carrie Lofty to BLI today to celebrate the release of their Christmas story Came Upon a Midnight Clear, which released from Samhain November 27th! The ladies wow’d me with their Vegas Top Guns series and they have hit another home run with Came Upon a Midnight Clear, a sizzling m/m lovers reacquainted story layered with conflict and emotional undertones.

About Katie Porter:

Katie Porter is the co-writing team of Lorelie Brown and Carrie Lofty, friends and critique partners of six years.

Both are multi-published in several romance genres. Carrie has an MA in history, while Lorelie is a US Army veteran. Generally a high-strung masochist, Carrie loves weight training but she has no fear of gross things like dissecting formaldehyde sharks. Her two girls …
